Got my Season Ticket Renewal today - New Blvd. PoliciesModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower re: "In other words, out of towners who plan on making 2 games won't be able to tailgate b/c there is no area left for people who don't reserve for the entire season."
Isn't that like whining about a hotel that doesn't have any rooms left to rent for a weekend because all the rooms have been snatched up by people reserving the rooms for an entire week? Look if what they are saying is true, that "every single space will be rented at the new rates" then what do you expect them to do? I understand your point, but doesn't it boil down to catering to people that are reserving and paying to be there for every home game over those that only show up up for "a couple" of games a season? Maybe they could set up an area of "non-reserved" tailgating in some nice tree covered areas that run along the sides of or are adjacent to the BLVD? I agree the "more the merrier" but if people are willing to pay a premium to be in the premium SMU BLVD spots is the cash strapped SMU athletic department to say "no"? I would think the best and most exclusive tailgate spots at most top 25 NCAA programs don't come free or to people that just "show up for a couple of games a year". Hopefully some adjustments can be made. I doubt this 2007 policy is the "final word". I bet Steve Orsini and President Turner will listen and be open to "tweeking" the BLVD policies. C-ya @ Milos!
Sometimes change is painful in many different ways....people let go, folks hired for newly created positions, price increases, etc......Orsini was brought here for a reason. I have the brochure for the new tailgating plans (as many of you do) there are lots of price options. The NEW money generated in just one season, will be a significant boost for SMU athletics. I also think it could increase attendance a bit, there are some people that have spots on the Vard that don't show up, if you pay these new prices, it might be an incentive to come to the game. People probably will start coming out even earlier than in past years. Most of us have several regulars in our gameday camps, if everyone chips in, it's not that big of a deal. Get behind the wheel and push, or get the hell out of the way. I am a Mustang Club member, multiple season ticket holder, donate to the Bennett football camps, and work my ace off for free on the fundrive every year. If this is one more thing I can do that will help the Stangs win, then count me in. I don't have any patience for the people over here that do nothing but [deleted] and complain, and do zero to help.

I'm sorry, but don't forget, THIS IS SMU, we don't have enough fans to say - well, screw you if you don't come to all the home games and can only make it to 2 of them[/b]. SMU should be catering to all the fans - when you have a stadium that is only 1/3 full on game days, you can't afford to [deleted] off fans w/ policies like the new Blvd. ones...
exactly we have a stadium that is 1/3 full and a blvd. that is 100% full.... have to make the money somewhere WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
LAST POST ON THIS SUBJECT;
Out of town people will find a ton of room to tailgate. SMU will not run them off. Not all the spaces will be sold and most will buy the parking and come to the Boulevard where they will again find some open spaces. I will agree with my next door neighbor, Let it go for now. Let us all see how it works out. Let's see just how good this new million dollar ad campaign is. Let's see how many extra people we get in Ford this year. Bottom Line, we need new degree majors, admittance standards to be on a level playing field with the competition. Go Coach Bennett, he has the hardest job in Div. I Football. AND HE's DOING WELL. WHAT?!?! The Blvd. is definitely NOT 100% full....there was tons of room out there last year. Its practically empty compared to the Grove...
Where will they find room to tailgate if all the spaces are reserved??? The map I received in the mail shows all areas of the Blvd. reserved for entire season tailgaters. I don't see any allowance for people to be able to tailgate for one game for free, or even for a fee. It simply isn't included in the new Blvd. plan.
what are you even worried about just hang out at the law school tent... i will do the usual beer in hand, mooch off the frats, and carry my tailgate flask... *** also who needs a spot? the blvd. is better when you walk around

Well said BUS! Coach Bennett does have the hardest job in D-1. That does get forgotten at times. Go Ponies!
Thats not even a legitimate response to my comment... Maybe you don't really care how SMU messes this up, but I do.
im sorry you didnt like my response... but i'll still be back on the blvd. next year having a great time and watching the best football team we've had in 20 years. i guess you can always sit at home for free and watch it online for a small fee

Great attitude ex-pony
![]() I hope the athletics dept. makes adequate provisions in the tailgating policies for everyone.
