Lettermen Parking GarageWhat is the scheduled completion date for the new Lettermen Parking Garage? Saw it was moving along pretty good.
I bumped the old thread about it. I hope it's done in August, but if I had to guess, I'd say more like December.

I've been told there's a rumor going around that the garage will be ready in August and the Crum Center will be ready in October. I'm guessing both estimates -- especially that on the garage -- are premature.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
... "Hit it."
I walked by the garage today, I'd say August isn't too far off. They've done alot more pouring than I thought with the weather lately. The Crum center will probably be done by October.
Sir, shooting-star, sir.

I was thinking SMU had some standing commitments for university and high school commencement ceremonies. You'd think by the end of May the transformation will have begun.
They would have to move the Athletic Department offices to Ford first I would think and that won't happen until this summer.
Those last two posts hit the nail on the head.
I'm not sure if Moody still hosts any high schools, the last one I had heard of was RISD and I think they moved out to Garland...but the big SMU ceremony is in there and they will keep it intact for that. And apparently some higher members of the Athletic Department have already moved into Ford.
Actual renovations to the inside of Moody are still in the money raising phase. Problem is that once any demolition is done to concourses, aisles, bathrooms, etc., it ALL has to be immediately brought into ADA compliance. Therefore, until the money is raised to actually complete the internal transformation, it cannot begin, which is still several years out. In the meantime, there is still money left to be raised to pay for the scoreboard and the Crum center. And there will be additional "Phase II" Moody renovations that are cosmetic in nature -- as opposed to structural, such as a new floor.
There is ALOT in Moody that is not ADA compliant. Including a good chunk of the stairs in the arena. Sir, shooting-star, sir.

According to an email sent out today, the parking garage is expected to be completed by March 2008 and will have about 850 parking spaces.
