PonySnob a troll

Haven't you guys figured out this clown is a tcu troll? Sounds like the fake "SMU Dad" of a couple of years ago on the other board. He should be banned.

When will you figure out that I am not a troll. I did in fact graduate from the Hilltop in the early 90's. I just wish so many of you would stop trying to look at everything with those rose tinted glasses and face the facts that our program is still at the bottom of division 1. While we do have a wonderful facility to play in, our team is still not competitive. We just got blown out by a team that is not even in the top 25. At least we scored more than any other WAC team yesterday. Our once proud program plays in the worst conference in major college football. So far, our entire conference has one win over a 1-AA team. How can anybody say that our program is headed in the right direction after last night? We lost to this very same team by only 10 points last year! Is the Tech homefield worth another 38 points to them? I do find it funny that there aren't any SMU fans who want to acknowledge the fact that TCU has been able to do what we cannot - WIN. Why don't SMU fans want to have success like TCU fans do? Wouldn't it be more fun to talk about winning games, our conference, making plans to go to bowl games than hoping for 3 or 4 wins a season? Has losing become acceptable to the majority of SMU fans? When will SMU fans be able to expect to field a competitive team?

The snob is merely a discouraged critic. His comments are truthful and accurate, doggone it. I have been a fan of SMU since the days of Doak Walker, but I despair of ever seeing football greatness again on the hill. As far as I am concerned only a winning progam and a bowl game will ressurect interest in SMU football. Our dedicated rich football loving alumni are aging and their endowments will be gone all too soon. We are facing the end of an era. Only a miracle will keep football alive on campus.

Ponysnob is right.I am extremely jealous of TCU. They probably have the third best program in the state. While we have the second worst program in Texas. SMU needs to win and win now.Because the worse thing you can have for a program is student, fan, and alumni indifference. And I'm already seeing it with my fellow young alums. When people don't care if you win or lose and do not show up to the games it's the begining of the end. Honestly we need to recruit jucos and partial qualifiers. And SMU should have a kineisiology major. Rice! of all places has a kineisiology program, and yes a lot of their athletes are kineisology students. The prgram was back up in 1989, and I know we had all these barriers to recruiting and offering scholarships until recently. But programs like South Florida and UConn have only been D-1 for handful of years and are starting to win i. I know the South Florida guy is one of Bill Snyder's ex assistants so maybe thats a sign of good things to come from coach Bennett. Anyway our administration has done a lot to help football in recent years, but there is still nuch to be done.
