Women's Basketball Team Awards Announced

Dodds Named Team MVP

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's basketball team celebrated its 18-12 record for the 2006-07 season with its annual team banquet Wednesday night at the Crescent Club, where Mustang team awards were announced and distributed.

Junior guard Sharee Shepherd earned the team's Heart Award. SMU's Defensive Award was given to freshman post Alice Severin while the team's Rebounding Award was presented to freshman forward Delisha
Wills. Earning her second straight team MVP award was junior forward/post Janielle Dodds.

Dodds and Wills were recognized for their All-Conference honors. Shepherd, Severin and Catherine Campbell were recently named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. Dodds was presented with a basketball signifying her 1,000th career point which she posted this past December.
