Kennedale guard picks SMU
11:14 PM CDT on Tuesday, April 24, 2007
Kennedale guard Samantha Mahnesmith, whose 26.5 scoring average was tops in the area in 3A last season, has orally committed to SMU. Mahnesmith, a 5-7 junior, also averaged 3.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds.
Getting commitments this early in the game is impressive. Congrats to the WBB program!

Sounds like a solid shooter. Can't have too many of those.
Keep it up, Coach Rompola!

women's basketball.. giggle
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

Oh, I agree. I figured that when she didn't get the UT job that somebody else would have snatched her up. I don't see how we've been able to keep her at SMU for so long.

I didn't say she's Pat Summitt or the guy at UConn with the last name I can't spell. She's done a very good job here. That's all I'm saying. She and her program clearly are not on the list of things that need fixing. They've done well, and they're poised to do even better next year.

No it's equestrian. How much money does that sport COST out athletic department to run? I mean I'm sure the TV package off-sets that though...
