Of course a player can always back off his commit, so really it seems like a good insurance policy for a highschool athlete whereas not a great deal of upside for a school that plans to hold true on its' word.
I'm pretty sure Kingwood never won back to back championships. The second one they lost to Plano HS, a team who had Joseph Fulce (Texas A&M) and state championship game mvp John Roberson (Texas Tech).
You are right. My post should have read that he appeared in back to back State Championship games. They did lose to Plano in '06 after winning it all in '05.
