Last year we went 2-2 in our first four games.
Which chance was/is better:
1) Last year's team on last year's schedule going 3-1 (going into the season)
Tech, UNT, SHSU, Ark State
vs
2) This year's team on this year's schedule going 2-2
Tech, TCU, UNT, Ark State

Dude, it's freakin' May. You must have done sorting the socks in your drawer. That poll is probably more appropriate in August.
And what do you care. You think Phil Bennett sucks anyway, so I'm sure you're pulling for 0-4.

no, i hope for 12-0. But, if firing phil gets us there quicker, then I am all for it.

looking at this objectively, I think 3-1 should be replaced with 1-3 on your poll. It's much more likely, IMO

Give PhirePhilBennett a break. Let's face it, the Mavs and Rockets didn't go deep in the playoffs and the Rangers and Astros are having their worst combined year ever. The only thing to look forward to now is football season. Go Texans, Go Cowboys, Go Mustangs!
I say we go 2-2.

We'll only be favored in one of those, ASU.

In reply to the actual question raised in the poll, I would say it is a push. We were a "sure thing" to be no worse that 3-1 last year and this year we are a "sure thing" to be no worse than 2-2. Of course we witnessed last year how we can screw up sure things.
Paraphrasing a wise man, I do not expect to be 2-2 or better, but will be pleasantly surprised if we are.

Good point, let's tie it back in--maybe if we'd recruited better we'd have been 3-1 last year.

Gee...I guess with that logic jt it means that TCU will be an underdog in our game with them at their home field. Your support of our team, or more correctly, your lack of support of our team is pathetic. I 'm sure you would be much happier if you just sit at home and watch the UT games...then you won't have to worry about if you should be pleasantly surprised or what.
You know, I'm really, really sorry you had to go to a soccer game for your home coming game...that sucked...but it is time to be a big boy and let go of the hate. That is history and this is a different point in time. Pye is gone...most of the ridiculous constrainst to recruiting are gone and this team and coaching staff are trying very hard to take this program to the next level. They had nothing to do with your home coming trauma. They need true, passionate fan support...try it jt you may find it fun and inspiring.

I agree completely. North Texas won 2 games last season, one of which was 7 overtimes against Florida International.
Of course you guys were favored last season as well...

Yeah, well the next level is getting over .500 after twenty years of pathetic football, and nobody except Mike Cavan has been able to do it. Once. I could not care less what you think of my support of this team PK, I am out there ever game cheering for the impossible like everybody else on this board, which is more than most of the blue hairs the Mustang Club caters to can say. Be realistic for once in your life sunshine and maybe you'd know my frustration.
