Craig James on ESPN this A.M. re: WAC

I was listening to Eric Roberts show today on ESPN radio. Craig James was his guest and he was teasing him about the Mustangs, about the SWC, about the old payola days, etc. Craig laughed it off and said we're working on coming back, but then said something very interesting. He said that SMU needed to get into a conference that made sense. He talked about a conference with Baylor, SMU, TCU, Rice, Tulsa and others, but not the "Big Boys". He went on to say, that no one in Texas knows anything about the WAC teams, and its just a bad fit for SMU.

I personally wish James would keep his mouth shut. I don't think a new SWC does anything for SMU in the long run. The conference would be the worst in the USA except maybe for the Southland or whatever UNT is in. NO TEAMS are good. There are 3 currently in the bottom 10. Give us a break Craig. Talk about SMU rebuilding its program to prominence over the next few years. Don't say we'll never compete with anyone who is any good again.
