Reggie CarringtonModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower I was busy last week, went to see the greatness of Rush, on their opening night in Atlanta! But doesn't this seem to happen to SMU almost every frikin' summer? One of our key players is out, for various reasons.
ur an idiot WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
THE INCORRECT ANSWER The loss of a loved one is devastating. But you're such a narcisist that you always know better. Have you ever been wrong? I find it interesting that the ones who always have the most to say really do very little to help. I stand by what I wrote. And my attitude won't change. Good luck to Reggie. And his replacements should embrace the opportunity.
FACT: our defense sucks FACT: Reggie was a 6 year senior, we need to move on FACT: We won as many games this year as any year in the cavan era FACT: all of the major media outlets think this is the best team smu has put on the field in years FACT: Stallion and JT are still bitter bears FACT: UT will not win the Big XII FACT: SMU WILL go to a Bowl Game WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
I don't worry about people who aren't here. I'm disappointed that Reggie's gone, but we can't control that, can we? I want people who are 100 percent committed to our program. Based on what was reported from the DMN story, Reggie could not give us 100 percent. Consider this speculative point, what if the coaching staff kept him on the team and then these distractions he was dealing with compromised his focus and the season we were expecting from him didn't happen? And then these distractions could have wedged their way into other parts of the defense? Just think about it. I'm not reading a crystal ball, but only expony18 can serve as a mouthpiece as to whatever the internal issues were starting to create distractions and if this thing with Reggie could have mushroomed. Now, the keeper of the star can go off the deep end all he wants and lament this loss and say our whole defense is going to hell in the handbasket and use whatever points he was to back this up. But the bottom line is Reggie Carrington is not on this team and we have some interesting kids coming up who are waiting for this opportunity. I say good luck to them. And for the cheap shot about Bennett not keeping good players, I can only say based on the story, is that it sounds like Reggie did these things to himself. This football program is not built around one person. It is a TEAM!!
George S. Patton is just getting us warmed up for hearing PB telling us our guys are scratchin' clawin' kickin'...oh waaaaaaiiiiiiitttt a second...while typing this I got a great idea...
How's this for a contingency plan...y'know, preparing for the worst as they say: on defense, we'll have either Hurst or a RS Fr LB....probably at least one, probably two FR in the DT rotation....a sophomore DB, probably a freshman safety...how 'bout we call ourselves "one of the youngest defenses in cUSA"?
I always get a kick out of Big10PonyFan's ostriach act (who we know no longer exists in the PonyFan database wink!wink!). Since he no longer exists in the program I am taking the position that the person formerly known as Big10PonyFan is no longer relevant. The PROGRAM must move on! CONCLUSION: General Patton is irrelevant.
