CU Boulder on Probation

Postby PonyKai » Thu Jun 21, 2007 5:17 pm

" DENVER -- Colorado was placed on two-years probation and fined $100,000 by the NCAA on Thursday for inadvertently undercharging 133 athletes for meals totaling $61,700 over six academic years. The school also was ordered to cut one football scholarship for the next three seasons.

The violations are considered "major," the infractions committee said. The fine is to be paid to a hunger- or homeless-relief charity.

The probation will not limit CU's television exposure or NCAA Tournament appearances, however. "

-61,000 dollars
-"Major" infractions

Sounds familiar? Oh well I guess helping charity and cutting one whole scholarship will really deter those darn cheaters.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Man, all that cheatin' and Texas still thrashed them 70-3 in the 2005 Big XII championship. At least when other teams cheat (ahem) they win a few games.

As we speak, a CU alum is setting up the "Feed the Hungry Deserving Poor High School Athlete" fund. CU will donate to this worthy cause and write off the business expense of illegal recruiting as a charitable expense. Only the NCAA and the US Goobernment can figure out a way to make breaking the rules legal and allow it as a tax write off. Watch for other BSC schools to beg the NCAA to fine them money to 'give' to a charity.

Of course they didn't get punished or cited by the NCAA for the hookers and strippers who "entertained" the recruits.
