While the specifics of this discussion is more germane to the basketball board, it's no secret that the football board is the most heavily trafficked on pf.com.
Already being discussed on the basketball board:
SMU has designs on basketball past

Artist rendering of the new court design.
Yet again, a sign that our "new management" just "gets it". I really am pleased by this and many other moves. Finally, after years of blind loyalty, it seems that the SMU Administration does care about on field/court success. Giving the keys to Orsini/Sweet they are doing the little things (as well as the big) that breeds a winning tradition.
Of course steps were taken with Ford and the 'Vard, but it's nice to have a team ready to go the extra mile. If you build it, they will come... doesn't just refer to brick and mortar in SMU's case, it is - again - all of the little things.
Go Mustangs,

I'm with you... I like the darker blue... but other than that - I like the direction.

I feel your pain (the blue is cheesy). But if it's a package deal with Orsini/Sweet, I'll make the necessary adjustments.

What I like is the emphasis on the red. It's a color that catches the eye.
Question: Wasn't there talk of replacing the entire floor at one time? I would guess that this mentioned work will take its place and still provide a quality playing surface.

C'mon General. Patton would never say something like "I like the emphasis on the red."

And with "emphasis on the little things" I mean things such as this, from the article:
•Including the words "Dallas, Texas" on the court is important. Some aren't familiar with the school's location.
Really, it's true. It seems trivial, but I love it.

very smart to put dallas, texas on there.. thats funny now many schools do that at all.. think of all the bball games that espn telecasts and these east coast private schools and you have no idea where they are..
it was on another thread but speaking of "just getting it".. how about Sweet and Orsini branding the smu product to stores and shops around dallas.. finally you will see smu products along side UT, TAMU and TCU and Tech..

No, you won't. SMU products do not sell very well in Dallas - or anywhere else for that matter. It's all about 'supply & demand'. Surely all of you business & marketing majors from SMU have figured this out by now.

Agree. Orsini and Sweet get it. Orsini is the first AD since the DP to be allowed to have bravado and really move the program into the top 25 in everything we do.
There is no way the administration would allow Forest Gregg to have visions or aspirations of the Top 25. Copeland had no motivation and felt defeated before he got to the hilltop.
There has been enough space in time and losing since the DP that an AD can be agressive in his effort to make things better before being immediately accused of incurring violations or running a dirty program. Orsini is the right man at the RIGHT TIME. If Orsini came came to SMU any earlier he might not have had the flexibility given the circumstances.
