None of those coaches ever went winless in a season as head coach.....
And you are forgetting that Bennett went winless with a good number of Cavan's players. Even the keeper of the star knows that you can't judge a new coach's system by the third year when his first recruiting class is old enough to contribute. We all knew the players that Cavan, who worked here on automatic pilot, gave up on fighting the academic changes.
Obviously, they changed during Phil's tenure. That said, that's why it's been frustrating the last two years have improved but not at the rate that we expect.
Again, we all know that this is the make or break year for him. And that's why recruiting may be slowing because since there is that sense out there, there are a lot of kids who are in a wait and see mode.

Hmm... I thought the two 63s and the 60 were better than Bennett's 73. Sorry bud, last year was #4.[/quote]
don't confuse this issue with facts, my friend.

Those pesky little facts always are a nuisance.

If I understand you correctly, I think 2007 is projected to be one of the better classes highlighted by Bailey.
I'm just speculating that 2008 may be a little shaky because of Bennett's status.

Yes I thought it was a slightly better recruiting class especially with Elizee at our most pressing recruiting need -in other words MEDIOCRE. Rivals has us at what 98th in the country-I'll even grant that they artificially rated us a little low for the reasons I've pointed out before-I'd say we were in the 80-85 range-that's the problem 95% of you have such little expectations for this program that you get excited about mediocre. Where has mediocre recruiting got this school. About a composite of 85th in the Country in the Massey ratings. The Goal of the Program is to be Top 25 in every sport. Doherty is making progress toward that goal Bennett ain't close because he a mediocre recruiter.
