I agree with you 100%. I was just predicting his lame@ss excuse should Willis go down and our season with him. I am already prepared to hear excuses on the defensive side of the ball where Bennett will blame its short coming on having lots of young players in the rotation. We should have 2-3 RS Freshmen on the D-line and prolly 1 in the LB crew see significant time and a couple true sophs starting in the secondary for PB to use as excuses on that side of the ball.
I think I forgot to quote Bennett on that one: (Help me out Sargeant Patton) "I'm never going to be put in that situation again..." - PB, on signing several QBs after the Tate Wallis and Richard Bartel defections, after the David Page/Kelan Luker defections. Let me know when he figures it out.
I think you're doing fine on your own! You obviously don't know how to spell. Be sure and kiss your full size poster of Bennett on your bedroom door before you go to bed.
Once again, we enjoy cheering for failure!

something must be very, very wrong with Zach Rhodes

Before the oil bowl, was he coming to the campus and to what extent was he on campus?
I would be a little weary of that comment because no one has commented publicly on Rhodes (At least I haven't seen anything). Until we know what's up with him, let's not be hasty here.
Who knows, it could actually be that Rhodes and Turner are really battling for the backup. Let's hope we don't see either this fall except in blowouts and one of them is running out the clock.

Oh sure throw a wet towel on the rampant kneejerk speculation.
Fun killer.

I have a feeling this kid is a winner. He was a human highlight film in high school. He might be the next McIlhenny. I sure hope so.

He'll get some mop up duty in some of the OOC games, so that if he is needed later in the season, he will be ready to play. If he's as good as advertised why shouldn't he be second on the depth chart especially of your original #2 joined a band, or left in a snit and the #3 is hurt. You can only have so many QB's with game experience with this program in its current state.

I would say that the best reasons for redshirting him are 1. A year of learning the playbook and adjusting to the College game without the pressure of playing is usually considered a good idea for QBs. 2. If he doesn't redshirt, he'll be be stuck behind Willis for three of his four years of eligibility and only have a real chance to start in his Senior year, unless something horrible happens to Willis. I think we'll lose him to another program if he winds up playing a few series this year but not getting a real shot at starting.

Good points but I doubt PB is more concerned with Logan's long-term goals/potential as he is with saving his job this year. Its win or bust for PB this season.

Who knows? Next year, he might be redshirted. And if he played for example in the Tech game for a part of a quarter and the Arkansas State game for part of a quarter and got a hang nail, couldn't he be redshirted?

With some scholarships opening up...perhaps we are out there looking for a Juco or transfer type to come in and be #2 to allow Turner to redshirt. Granted, there may not be much available, but who knows what you might find.

One play voids the possiblity of redshirt for that year. If he gets hurt it must be fully documented as valid in order to get a medical hardship. He can not have played in more than 20% of the playing time in the first half of the season and again the injury must be well documented as season ending. He could play next year and then redshirt the following year but that is usually not a method used.

In the immortal words of MNF announcer Dan Dierdorf (or was it Al Michaels), " We refuse to speculate at this time, but this could be the end of Joe Theismann's career..." [as he speculates on Joe Theismann's broken leg.]
Petty Officer "Seargent" Patton approved these words.

I am the voice of reason. You are the voice of eternal optimism. That's ok, we need people like you so that when it doesn't work out, people like me can say, "Hey, I told you so."
