Love is reflected in love.
Chill out people. The common goal is to jointly experience the joy of SMU football. Keep good thought!

I think everyone should "freak out".. it's much more entertaining to read..
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

No doubt. I mean it's June on a football board. We're just about to hit rock bottom before things pull up in August, so it's no surprise that we're banging on the cell doors these days.

Doesn't Page have another year of eligibility remaining? Pull him out of Wall Street, let him work on a PhD and put him at back-up. Just kidding. I suspect that Phil will be checking the JUCO rosters or 1-AA rosters for a gem in the rough before August. Remember, 1-AA players can transfer in without sitting. Perhaps there's a QB at Grambling, William and Mary, Delaware, or some other place that might fit a need.

There was a successful Kansas JUCO kid(originally signed with Ole Miss) who was a 3 star recruit on both Rivals and Scout that SMU and several others looked at named Paul Eck who neither service has confirmed signing with any school. It could be he signed with 1-AA school so that just didn't note commitment. Since he is from a Kansas JUCO I'm sure the SMU staff is fully aware if he is still avaiuliable. There also is a kid expected to walkon at TCU named Eric Herbel who might be a kid we could look at.

Or we could recruit internally from the tight end corps.

I made a deal with PB, I said I would retire my post if he went to a bowl game (after he started 0-2 last season). I said it would take 7-5 to make a bowl.
Idiots like the Seargent said "No man, we can make a bowl at 6-6" to which I said fat chance. Well, I was right.
PB did not keep his bargain, thus I am alive and kicking
We will fire him if we go 6-6, and maybe even if 7-5...
If he wants to keep his job, then he better go 8-4.

I think he'd probably stay with a 6-7 record including a bowl loss. That is entirely possible since CUSA has 6 bowl affiliations this year.

And it is entirely possible that he goes 3-9. That's why God invented fall Saturdays, so we could watch it play out.

He's just saying that a 6 win bowl is possible, not that 6-7 is actually possible

Is Chris Phillips still around, can he even throw a football? Could he be moved back over to QB from TE if Willis goes down?

There's a term for what you've just described. It's called 'Pulling a Fry'.
And what's this 'we', Tonto? Are you Steve Orsini in disguise?

To me that wouldn't even be a comparison considering Fry was fired after a winning season and had 3 winning seasons under his belt at that point. Let me remind everyone that PB's next winning season will be his FIRST winning season

He won't stay at 6-6.
As Robert Conrad would say (or was it Baretta), "You can take that to the bank!"

Robert Conrad played Jim West on The Wild, Wild West. Robert BLAKE played Baretta.
