It was my impression that they were flying up on Saturday, driving to the game and returning to the HI Express Saturday night. If that is true then the HI Express should be fine. If you are looking for party time Friday night, the HI is not the best. Which day are you flying in Special Delivery?

I imagine we will all have to gather soon and discuss this. My wife has no interest in Jonesboro so I am solo and looking for company in a cheering the Mustangs kind of way.

Not so fast my friend:

From Wikipedia:
The Mall at Turtle Creek, Jonesboro's new mall, developed by David Hocker & Associates, is a $100 million project. Completed in March of 2006, the mall is the largest in northeast Arkansas, and is expected to bring in $225 million in revenues yearly. In turn, $6 million of that revenue will be contributed to the city in tax money. Before the opening of the mall, the Indian Mall was the primary shopping destination in northeast Arkansas.

re: "Which day are you flying in Special Delivery?"

Special Delivery flies into Little Rock Sat at 12:10PM.

Rent car, apply "Go SMU!" white shoe polish to rental car, drive couple of hours up to Jonesboro.

Watch SMU win game.

Drive back to Little Rock Airport Holiday Inn Express.

Drink a few 7&7's.

Fly back to Love Field with SMU holding a 2-1 record!

With that schedule I do believe you are in good shape. Just do not go on a walking tour of the neighborhood around the hotel late at night, and hope the planes passing overhead very low drown out the police sirens. :D

(Your plans really are good and you will be safe.)
