So the world is coming to an end in July for Memphis, Southern Miss and UAB, too?

Actually Malzahn stole him. He had recruited him for Arkansas.

Well after Memphis's and UAB's abominations of seasons last year that's actually understandable, but it's the USM I don't get. Arguably the best team in the conference and not a one commit. Perplexing.

guess we just have to hope we come out of the July 21 camp with some commitments; hasn't that become the tine frame for early commits since the summer camps began?

Maybe they bought in to that silly rumor going around that Signing Day isn't for another six months.
"What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

I beleive Coach Dodge and his staff now have 9 commitments for the
2008 class. National signing day is still a long way off and as you know
kids do change their minds. From Rivals, North Texas now is tied for
50th place with the current commitments for the 2008 class.
Yes, North Texas will have a program on July 21st. It will be interesting
to see what players show up at the various camps on this day.
Side note, the Class 4A POY, and North Texas recruit, QB- Giovanni Vizza
has been on campus since June. Appears he and other North Texas
players (WR's) have been doing "voluntary" workouts all summer.
Have the pony players also been invoved with "voluntary" workouts
during the summer also?
North Texas reports for fall practice on August 5th-
When do the ponys report for fall practice?

And I believe that I could really give a #$%^ about what North Texas Teachers college for those who couldn't get into a real university is doing about anything.
All you have to do to back that up is to look how well you edited your note. Nice work. I before e except after c.
Looks like all the tuition paid off. The more you come on this board, the more you are going to get slammed. So just enjoy it -- unless you really get off on that kind of thing.

commitments in the Sun Belt, as well as more commitments than any
of the CUSA schools. The current Rivals rating has North Texas at #50.
Not to bad at all. There are more commitments that will be announced
soon. Insiders at North Texas report there are several more pledges that
are in, but, are being kept quite at this point in recruiting.

What does kept quite mean? And would the insiders be the janitors?

Dodge is doing a decent job and will bring in a class that will add more depth to the program that UNT has not seen in a long time. However, several commits have already said that if certain other offers come in they will switch, including a big OL from a south Texas school coached by a former UNT player. Those offers may not arrive, but you should wait until Feb to see who signs and then wait until they actually do something on the field.

Just another thread for the benefit of SMU that has been commented on by NTSU.
