Now that's a great line. Though so was "Verbal Commit 1 1/2"
WRT the other Rick: We can use that speed regardless of the size. Jesse won't be here forever. If the kid can blaze like Jesse he can earn that 'ship without catching or defending a single pass in his career.
I don't know enough about Beasley (as if I know anything about either of them really lol), but he seems to be a jack of all trades guy. Hopefully he puts on some pounds and finds a role to excel in.

You people are professed SMU fans, you better damn well get a sense of humor but quick.

Ah so this is what class is. Thank you for leading by example, Mr. Class.

Chill out, jt. If these posters are roughly the same size of our football recruits the jokes probably went right over their heads.

Kid is small but at least he is a legitimate athlete in 3 sports. In addition to the numbers posted above I found some more info. He was verified at 5-9, 155 at Rivals and at 5-9 at a SPARQ combine in Dallas at 5-9, 154 so he's a confirmed little guy. At SPARQ he was timed at 4.62. Coach's son-father is Mike Beasley. Jumped 22-8 3/4 in the Broad Jump at District Meet which ain't bad as a Junior. Little Elm moved up from 3A I believe last year. I saw one Basketball Game where he scored 27 points against McKinney so he's a 3 sport athlete type. He was the leading scorer in most of the BB games I saw. He is the school's best FB, BB and probably track athlete.

I hope we don't have any other "undersized" people reading this forum...I'm sure they will go elsewhere rather than watch a bunch of people, who have nothing better to do than trash SMU commits on the internet, make fun of them.
These two new commitments (at 5'9") have more size than you clowns have class.
Welcome to SMU you guys and don't pay attention to these badasses behind their keyboards.
Gotta agree with you there. These kids were offered and accepted, which is a heck of a lot more than we can say about several others that have been offered so far. I'm sure that the offers were made because the coaches saw a "potential" Darrel Green or Pat Fisher in the making. We will know a lot more in a couple of years. Welcome to SMU!

Well, Mrydel, glad something about you is finally looking up...and not heading for the floor.
Sense of humor? There is nothing funny about mocking a new SMU football player for any reason on the "fan" message boards. That isn't funny to me and I am definitely sure it doesn't put a smile on their faces if, God forbid, they read their own thread on their own message boards from their own fans.
But, then again, I wouldn't expect anything productive, constructive or funny from any "hilarious" people who have joked at our new recruits' expense.

You definitely are a humorless bore. But Sargeant Pepper thinks you're Neat-O! So why don't you two guys get together and bore each other with your nonsense.

Once again for clarity 01, if message boards are keepong recruits away, why do you not spend your time on the UT or A&M boards petending to be a fan and mock their recruits so they will all leave and come to SMU? We may not always get the biggest and meanest recruits, but they sure are smart enough to know not to decide a school by a message board.

Ponyfans is the only fan site I actively post on, but I do read TCU, A&M, UT, UNT, Ark State, Tulsa, UTEP, UH, Tech, Rice and CUSAbbs fan boards to see what news or opinions every team has about us, themselves or the conference.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that of all the fan boards I just listed, PF is the only one that has the audacity to fill a 15 post page with "jokes" about their new recruits.
UT, A&M, Tech don't ridicule recruits if they happen to sign and are a 2-star and they also don't complain incessantly if they sign a 2-star from a small school. UNT is probably the only school on that list that considers current BCS offers as a measure of talent as much as Ponyfans. Hell, even UNT is mocking our new recruits on their own message boards in multiple threads because of all your "hilarious jokes".
I could go on forever Mrydel, but the fact of the matter is this:
If I went on other fan boards and trolled their recruiting forums and joked at the expense of their new recruits...2 things would happen.
1) I would probably be suspended, muted or banned.
2) I would stand out because I would be the only one doing it.
This thread isn't even moderated now that it is off-topic and insulting...and one person who mocks a recruits attributes on Ponyfans blends in with the other 5 people who like to join in.
That's the difference between us and every other football fan board I listed.
I don't care who anybody signs but SMU -- nobody else is a Mustang and they probably never will be.

Going after mrydel is just one of those things you don't do on this board.
He is a sacred cow! And I'm not talking about one of those golden idols in the bible.
He is one of the best people you will ever meet. His loyalty and passion for this school is something that all of us should learn from.
I only hope to be as good a fan as he currently is.
