You can hijack threads only because of your superior shuttle time.

Actually, threads are hijacked with superior "scuttle" times.

NTSU just got an interesting commitment from a WR prospect who is 6-5, 198(verified) and reported to run a 4.56. Rivals reports he SAID ge had verbal offers from Baylor and A&M but that isn't confirmed in their system-I don't know just reporting. The Denton paper also claims he got a Missori offer. But assuming the number s above are true, he is 8 inches taller, weighs 43 pounds more and runs .64 faster forty. Productive on the field too as he was Second Team All State in 3A as a Junior. I would think that we would have had at least some interest in a kid with those numbers. Looks like a decent prospect. This kid was not flying under the radar and had some big BCS schools lookung hard at him. Rated 5.3

NTSU also just got a commitment a couple days ago for another WR who had BCS offers from Arkansas, Iowa St and Missouri-rated a high 2 star at 5.4

The skepticism of the quality of NTSU's class is becoming harder and harder to justify. He's doing a great job from my perspective.

Question for you, Stallion, because I don't subscribe to Rivals:
Take this particular kid out of the equation — say it's just Random Recruit X. How would Rivals confirm offers other than by having the kid tell them "I've been offered by Baylor and Texas A&M?" Surely Rivals doesn't report a commitment from a kid and then call Baylor and A&M and say "Hey, we heard you lost Random Recruit X — did you offer?" Coaches aren't allowed to talk about players, and even if they did, admitting they offered a kid and lost him would make that school look bad.
So how else would Rivals "confirm" those other offers "in their system"?
Thanks.

well they just posted that story-so maybe they will confirm. But most of these Rivals sites have very good sources at their schools. They go to their camps, they get confirmation of visits and they talk to the players. Coaches and players do talk to inside sources about players including Phil Bennett. I just noted that they said they were "verbally offered" which is a lot less definite than actually receiving the written offer of a grant in aid from the university. Potential for some misconception when a kid reports a verbal offer but less with a written offer. Example Coach X- "we want you to commit to Ole Tex U." Was the kid offered or was it a sales job. Is it subject to the the school being admitted to university. An offer one day may be taken by another player the next day. Generally, an offer given by the head coach, at a camp or on an official or unofficial campus visit is more likely to be genuine offer than one on the recruiting trail. I'll admit some of the kids intentionally or unintentional confuse the two situations.

Beasley, along with Braden Smith, made the Dallas Morning Snooze's Honorable Mention Player of the Week as he had 331 yards passing and 108 yards rushing!

I noticed in today's DMN HS GameTime section that Cole Beasley starts the first week off as the second best passer in Class 4A and the sixth best rusher based upon his performance last Friday!

Might this be our future punt returner?
Everything I read suggests he's incredibly elusive.
Would be nice to not have to risk Sanders getting beheaded back there.

Most impressive note in that story was written under one of the pictures:

"Quarterback Cole Beasley (11), who has rushed for nearly 500 yards, should surpass 10,000 yards of total offense this season."

10,000???????

Beasley was only 4-12-1 for 74 yards last night in Little Elm's loss to McKinney Boyd last night. He did rush the ball 17 times for 131 yards and a score.

tmustangp wrote:Imagine Bryan Hopkins playing cornerback.. I am dead serious.. This kid has a 40+ vertical jump and its legit. I saw him jump at the SMU camp.. He was clearly the best football player at the camp. He plays qb in his dad's offense but he will not be a qb in college.. I don't think he even took a snap at qb at the smu camp.. He would run at receiver and burn every corner and then turnaround and play corner and shut down the receiver.. If you worried about his height his make up speed and vertical make up for that... There are not many guys who will out jump him unless they are 6-4 and have a huge vertical.. Oh yah he was all-state as a junior in basketball..

Hopkins like ups + coaches son + great attitude= great pickup

You are correct. I watched the kid play BB in HS. He will be the best athlete on the team. Solid, very solid. He can cover but I would play him in the slot almost like a Danny Amendola type. We stole this kid.
