BIG MEN

Postby BUS » Sat Jul 21, 2007 3:19 pm

I had to post that.

We need 8 to 10 BIG MEN to allow these really fast LITTLE guys to do their jobs.

Point to make.... Big men do not get the marketing or attention that the fast ones get.

Come be a member of the HERD of BIG MEN and SMU.

SMU stands for Super Model University.

BUS, checkout my thread about fullback recruits under the football section and see if you agree that COACH should run Andrew McKinney this year down close to the goal line and get that YARD !

BUS - you hit the nail on the head. Great linemen can make mediocre talent look great. And great defensive linemen can make great talent on the other team look bad. And yes, we ought to be able to run for a yard on every running play, even the goal line.

Though every class should bring in some beef, I like how our Oline is shaping up for next season with the Possibility of JT Brooks and/or Josh LeRibeus moving up after their Redshirt years. The question at that point becomes one of: Who plays tackle?

If Enright excells at center, and we have Lobo and Tommy Poynter at the Guard positions, who moves to tackle? Obviously the season will give us a better look at Chase Smith, and a peak at Ross Nigh (maybe), But in 2008 we Should have even more talent and depth on the O-line. In 09 we'll be replacing the Guards (though Lankford will still be here, who knows what position they'll have him playing by then).

So if we assume a redshirt year for anyone recruited this season; what are we recruiting for? Guard, Tackle, or "[deleted] it Cadillac lets just get some BFD's in here and sort it out in the Summer of '09?

Seriously, this is one of the most fascinating things about college football to me.

I don't know. I think we can wait until December before we worry about next years JUCO OTs.
