Can someone make more water kiosks available for the Sept. 3 game??
1 hour waits to get bottled water will not work. We need to use our noggin and think ahead on this. Anybody on here got any stroke that can get this done?

Gee...why don't you be proactive and call or e-mail the Athletic Department and make that request yourself rather than posting here and hoping someone else will do it for you? Bet they would be glad to hear from you.

Let's load up on carbon credits and cut back on driving. Maybe we can keep the temp around 85.

BTW - Just saw that movie (An Inconvenient Truth), finally, last night - I would encourage any and all of you to watch the picture, regardless of political bent. It is truly frightening.

The most frightening thing about, to me, however, was how I had been duped into feeling like were making strides, and reversing global warming. But I now realize, I was amalgamating the fact that we closed to the hole int he ozone with disinformation on the current status of global warming.

Anyhow, sure, I know plenty of you might want to discredit it because of whatever feelings you have about Al Gore... but it's a pretty powerful piece. It should be required viewing for all humans.

All right, I'm off the soap box, but mr. pony's post brought it all full circle for me.

I think if all should be required to watch it that Gore be required to tell all sides of the facts rather than just the convenient truth for him. I wait for the day that Gore and Michael Moore do documentaries on each other.

In Today's Washington Post there was an opinion piece regarding the Kyoto accords. It seems that China is getting billions of dollars from other countries under the Kyoto accords because it is pumping its carbon emissions underground somehow and thus they don't count. So, it appears that they are reducing their carbon footprint when in fact they aren't. And I saw a piece written by a couple of Swedish scientists who were stomping around measuring the mud in the fjords up there and they are convinced that a period of global cooling is about to start and that the current warming trend is due to sun spots. So, guess what I think. Its not about football, so it doesn't belong on this message board. CUSA website has a spin room where you can chat about this stuff all you want.

Haha, yup. Normally, I wouldn't have brought it up on a football board, esp. one as hostile to non-football/SMU related issues as this one.... but again, mr. pony's joke brought it full circle for me. I can't say it enough, though, what was truly frightening to me was how many of these contrary stories I have heard giving me a false sense of security, that things were changing... really, I was actually quite amazed at how much of the other side of the coin (the global warming side) I hadn't been exposed to.

--------

Ford Stadium Concessions - give me ball park brats or give me death! Or something! ... I had a jack and coke the other night... it reminded me of college football. I rarely have jack, I rarely have coke, and if I have them together, it's 98% likely that I am sitting inside the cozy confines of Ford Stadium.

Don't tell the security personnel.

Give the guy a break......you could say that
about alot of topics on here.

Yeah maybe he should call the athletic office
but I enjoy seeing various items discussed
on here as well. If you don't....don't read them!

Who knows....maybe with things like this being openly
discussed someone may come up with an innovative idea.

Speaking of concessions, why don't we have people
in the stands hawking water and iced cold sodas in addition
to standing in the lines underneath the stands.

This might be a little off topic, but it has to do with Ford Stadium. I just bought my tix for the season. While looking at the seating chart, I noticed that the parents section is all the way down in the N. Endzone. I knew that it was toward the end, but not "THE END". Most parents end up moving towards the 50 anyhow. As a program, I think something should be done to benifit the few diehard fans that we have. Where to other top tier programs seat their parents?

For all those that believe the crap, explain:

1. Why Greenland had LESS ice in 1100
2. Why we cooled off from 1944 to 1973 during the height of US Co2 emissions
3. Why MARS and VENUS are currently experiencing global warming (yet, they don't have human pollution)?
4. Why the mean global temperature has fallen since 1998.
5. Explain the mini-ice age in Medieval times, and how the Earth warmed up SINCE then...

These facts are not disputed. The argument is not debatable.

The global warming crowd picks a convenient low point in 1898 and a high point in 1998 and say "See we are warming" ignoring that in the 1940s (an interim high point) there was an warmer period than than 2000s.

I would like to point to the snow in April in Dallas and the fact that we have not had a day over 100 this year to point out that we need to prepare for global cooling.

I'll give 'em a shot!

1. The Vikings had one HELLUVA party and used that ice to cool off their beer!

2. From 1944 to 1973 the following presidents held office in the U.S.

Harry Truman (Democrat)
Dwight D. Eisenhower (Republican)
John F. Kennedy (Democrat)
Lyndon Baines Johnson (Democrat)
Richard M. Nixon (Republican)

Clearly, this shows that Democrats are 'cooler' than Republicans by a 3-2 margin.

3. This one's easy: Because Women are from Venus and Men are from Mars.

Don't questions 4 & 5 contradict each other?

Two nuclear bombs being detonated in the 1940s in Japan may have something to do with the 'warming period' of that decade. Maybe. ;)
