New Uniforms

Postby DanFreibergerForHeisman » Wed Jul 25, 2007 8:45 am

Is SMU going to do anything to publicize the new football uniforms?

Even a rinky-dink school like North Texas State is making a big deal out of their new uniforms and having a public unveiling. They are even revealing one item of the new uniform per day on their web site. Not a bad idea in my opinion.

Doesn't the athletic department reailze some of us out there really do care?

Aren't we still a year away? It would not make sense to introduce a new uniform just before opening the season in the old ones you are going to wear for one more year.

I'll check back when they've revealed the whole thing. Until then, I couldn't care less.

Not that I particularly like them, but we ought to find a uniform and stick with it. Changing them annually is not conducive to good branding. Sort of like Brittany Spears shaving off all her hair. Different is not necessarily better.

I think that most schools change their uni's in about a 3-5 year range.

It may not seem as if most schools do it but they do. Dont know the whole reasoning behind it but it seems to be all about marketing appeal and who has the 'sweetest' jerseys on the market.

thank jeebus no one has convinced the UT athletic dept to mess with our jerseys. There'd be a riot. If I saw an oregon-style jersey for texas, I'd vomit my shoes.

yes granted oregon over does it, UT has in someways changed their jerseys. Its all about editing the minor details from the pants to the socks to the numbers.

but i have to admit, i like the numerous, yet ridiculous versions of UOs jerseys and helmets
