Yes, he's on campus. I was at Ford yesterday, doing some interviews, and saw him go by. He looks a little different from the pictures I've seen, so I didn't recognize him right away. Didn't get a chance to talk to him, but he's an impressive looking guy — thick chest and trunk, strong legs. Don't know much more .... yet.
Saw a few other athletes:
• QB Justin Willis looks good. Looks significantly leaner than last year. Not skinny, just leaner — more athletic. I asked him if he's losing weight, and he said he's significantly stronger than last year, and has lost 14 or 15 pounds. He said that last year he got up to about 210, and right now he's 196.
• RG Caleb Peveto also looks leaner. I posted before that Ben Poynter bragged about Peveto benching 485 yesterday, just a few months after shoulder surgery. His arms have more size and definition, and his shoulders seem thicker.
• LT Ben Poynter looks like he's in the best shape he's been in since he's been here. Said he's dropped about 5 pounds, now sitting in "the high 280s." Said he's lifting more than he ever has, and that he has tightened up on his diet.
• Saw a few basketball players: Janielle Dodds and Catherine Campbell are tall. Alex Malone is really tall. Tomasz Kwiatkowski is absurdly tall. Malone and Kwiatkowski were headed to the weight room.
• LB Jason Jackson looks like he has added 10 (?) pounds of muscle. Didn't recognize him without a jersey, until Poynter ID'ed him. Looked good.
• Brad Lankford and Ross Nigh look much stronger than they did last year. Don't know how much weight lifting either did before getting to SMU, but their builds have changed significantly since Vic Viloria got ahold of them. Lankford looks thicker and stronger. Nigh doesn't look thicker — I'd guess about the same size as last year, although it's hard to say in street clothes, rather than a uniform, but definitely looks a lot stronger.
