Thanks. I'm partial to the Yak-9 myself, but "Yakolev! Lada of the Skies!" didn't have quite the same ring to it.

I don't know about the class of 2007 working out together part but I do believe De'Von Bailey made a point of coming out to the field during the senior camp to watch his friends from Lawton and some other fellas. Maybe he could play a part in bringing in some (good) recruits...

It was a Junior Day, by the way,

If it was Junior Day then we all need to claim ingorance b/c
"they cannot commit for another year" or i think you meant Juniors who are to be seniors, but I always thought that once you started summer after your junior yr then you were considered a SR.

400 wow that is incredible, that is our best camp since Bennett has been here.. He said that we had 350 at the last sr day and 300 at the three day camp which was our biggest numbers since he has been here.. obviously interest is rising..

Junior Day or Senior Day, it certainly was not committment day.

They only need to commit to the coach...you know for a fact no one committed? I don't either, but then I'm not in a possition to be privy to that kind of information. Are you?

I understand PK but usually if you have good kids commit, you announce it in order to inspire other good kids to commit either because they want to jump on the band wagon or they want to get in before the class fills up. In all honesty with no disrespect to any of our now or future commitments, I do not think hiding them so no one else will find out about them is a feasible policy. They are either good enough that other teams know or they are not good enough for other teams to care.

For instance, Arkansas recently had their workout camp and jumped from about 4 to 15 commitments within 2 days of the camp.

You mean Arkansas doesn't already have a full class like Texas? I suppose that puts them on the same recruiting level as us and therefore we should be raking them in at the same rate as Arkansas.

BTW, did we actually make any offers at the junior day camp? Silly me, of course we did...I mean for what reason would we not. We probably gave everyone an offer as they walked in the gate. So sad...no commitments.

PK's right. We are having a banner recruiting year and all y'all can do is complain.

If there were no offers, it would be pretty safe to say that there were no commitments lol.

Arkansas has five times the number we do and the average "star" FWIW is higher than our number of commits. I still do not know if this was an incoming Junior or incoming Senior camp. That obviously could make a big difference, but regardless of how you spin it, these camps are held to look at recruits and hopefully entice some you want to come. This was our largest attended, and to date there are no announced committments. I do not think (but I do not know) that this was the strategy.

Off topic,

I love visiting Fayettenam. Really pretty country up there.

Sorry mrydel...you evidently missed my sarcasm or I'm just lame at it. Of course Arkansas has more recruits than us already. That can probably be said of almost any BCS school. Recruiting football players, especially players with the rankings we would all like to see, to SMU is no cup of tea. It is not a job for those who lack tenacity and inner strength.
