Nice to hear Smith and Ellison were there.

tmustangp: Mosley was national top 100, as I recall.

Stallion wrote:Willis, Martin, Henderson, Muse, and Sturdivant all meet the standards of what I suggest would be the type of players SMU should be tickled to get. ie 3 star or high 2 star with multiple offers from quality programs. I'm not going to count Sanders because he was rated 4.9 by Rivals which means not enough was known about the recruit for Rivals to evaluate the prospect. However, he does meet my other standard since he had reported offers from UH, Kansas, TCU and Baylor(I can't find the 2005 recruiting wrapup but I'm 99% sure he had 4 quality offers from among those schools_ i know UH offered for sure). So ALL the players listed above meet that standard except for a walk-on Punter which are rarely awarded D-!A scholarships anyway. So basically tmustangp has simply listed some of our best recruits over the years and suggested this proves that Bennett has recruited great sleepers. Doesn't make much sense. That list emphasizes the importance of quality recruiting not vice-versa. Now Justin Rogers would be a good example of an overachieving sleeper on which Bennett hit the jack-pot.

I don't know why we bother to play the games. We should just add up the total of all the stars and offers that each opponent's players have (assuming we can count that high), compare that to our wimpy total and determine our win-loss record. That would save us so much time and hassle!

Smith walked right by me, I would say 6'1 190-195 is pretty accurate.

Just got Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report and he rates Braden 3 stars! 8) "Not the tallest QB around but believe me this guy knows how to get the job done. On Film - Braden proves to be tough as nails with big time arm strength and accuracy. He is coached by his father and it shows, he is much more mature than the other area QBs. He's a good decision maker and is competitive with a great attitude. He can also run himself out of trouble."

GPA is over 3.5. Avg 6 points and 6 rebounds in BBall.

Well do you have some basis for saying this, just a feeling or what?

I will be pleasantly surprised if he stays committed to S.M.U. A gut feeling tells me he won't.

I have no way of knowing any more than anyone else here, but I do know his dad a little (covered his team for a couple of years), and Coach Smith is not someone who would make a commitment and then change his mind .... and I doubt he would let his son announce a decision without a father-to-son speech about "if you make a commitment, you live up to it," yada yada yada. Anything could happen, of course, but I'd be surprised if Braden switched.
