I get a chuckle out of all you people who talk about what bad fans non-Mustang Club members are. You can fit all of you into two sections of Ford Stadium. You are bashing the vast majority of fans that still care enough to even show up once in a awhile. When SMU is serious about competing on an even level with its traditional and natural rivals the check will be in the mail. Not a second before. Apparently I must be in the vast majority. If it ain't that important to SMU then it ain't that important to me. Not going to flush money down the drain for 20 years hoping that changes are made. If SMU's purported goal is to be a Top 25 program then I expect to see a Model in place which would give SMU a legitimate chance of reaching that goal.

So you justify not belonging because there are others who don't belong. Sounds like a kid trying to convince a parent of something. "But mom, everyone else goes to the games but doesn't belong to the M club!" And it sounds like you disagree that the program is moving in the right direction or that SMU cares. Again, I'm not satisfied with where we are but it certainly appears to me that SMU cares and is trying to get where we all want this program to be. It just takes time. As long as we are heading in the right direction I will support SMU. And you know what, I will support SMU even if I don't think they are heading in the right direction because I could be wrong and SMU is my school and deserves my support. But that's just me

we are no closer to reaching the Top 25 than we were 10 years ago. Beating a Division 1AA team, 2 private schools one ravished by Huricane Katrina and considered dropping FB, and 3 teams that weren't Division 1A 10 years ago Not only that we lost to NTSU which wasn't a Division 1A team 10 years ago and went 0 for Texas in 5 games last year. Whop-ti-Do! If SMU was in the SWC last year SMU would have gone 0-9 and then add in non-conference losses to Texas schools UTEP and North Texas and your back at 0-11. BIG IMPROVEMENT. You have to be Deaf Dumb and Blind to claim I don't give to the Mustang Club because others don't. I have outlined very clear reasons and standards for joining the Mustang Club and we ain't reached it yet. Been very straightforward and clear what is necessary to compete with our natural and traditional rivals. So if you want to start a campaign against Stallion to make you feel better come and get it because I got more. I never start this debate but I'll be damned if I'll let a bunch of suck-up cheerleaders tell me how to flush my money down the toilet. You'd have a better chance of convincing the other 95% of SMU alumni who don't give to the Mustang Club.

alot of that is true, but you are starting to overrate the SWC of the 90s now. it wasnt that strong. plus, if SMU was in the SWC, we would obviously recruit better no matter who was doing it. so, its cavalier to say we would have gone winless, but thats not to say we should be satisfied with the product, or last year. I like the swagger of Willis and the receiving corp. thats been missing for a long time around here. give me that, and I am starting to see something.

And you just proved what Stallion? We all want to be Top 25 again, but totally debasing the improvements of the program over the last 10 years is insane. You don't have to be a sunshine-y cheerleader with nothing but optimism and a bright, smiling face, but when the national media is recognizing that this is the best team SMU has fielded in 20 years and you are spouting off crap that we would be winless, one has to be suspicious.

How is the national media's attention to this year's team, which coincidentally comes on the 20th anniversary of the death penalty, reflective of "improvements in the program over the last 10 years"? I'll remind you that only 4 years ago we went 0-fer. You almost can't help but get better from there.

I do acknowledge the improvements over the last 4 years.

I believe that statement says it all. I would lump the bcs-bs into that statement in a heartbeat. Until the non-bcs-bs Division I members begin to fight them, many of us will not give or give a minimum amount (like me).

If SMOOOO really cared about the athletic dept losing $$$, they'd fight this cartel & the rest of us would be giving 5X what we give now.

To win you need a better product and better players. Football now has two more recruiters to get that done. How did we get those two guys? MORE MONEY AND COMMITMENT! You can't make money or become successful without spending it. I'm sorry the nay sayers of this board have to save money for adult diapers, but this is outrageous!

I'm sticking to my first statement. Not giving has become entertainment. It's your crutch. Nothing but leaving CUSA for the Big12 would make you change your mind. Got news for you...IT AIN'T HAPPENING! If this was Copeland Days I would understand. It's not. If you can't see progress in every aspect (talent, facilities, administartion, etc), you may need to pull your head out of your [deleted].

Copeland days had all of 4 full time employees in the entire sales and marketing department. Go look at the new directory. Have you ever seen just the ticket sales team equal more than that.

MARKETING 214-768-2885

Monica Contreras, Director of Marketing & Promotions 214-768-2879

Skyler Johnson, Asst. Director of Marketing 214-768-4051

Clayton Ryden, Marktg. Asst. 214-768-4053

Courtney Ferguson, Asst. Director of Marketing 214-768-1216

SALES - TICKETS, ETC. 214-768-TBA

Shawn McGee, Assoc. A.D. 214-768-4216

Ali Bradshaw, Director of Sales 214-768-4886

Christi McCrary, Manager of Ticket Sales 214-768-4849

Rachel White, Manager of Ticket Sales 214-768-2376

Terry Hemme, Manager of Ticket Sales-Youth 214-768-2476

The time is now, money is being spent, the Commitment is here! This is what you have been waiting for!

If you choose not to to see the entire picture, what is the point of supporting.

I wouldn't know for sure, nor do I really care, but I'd guess that ponyte is probably already a member of the Mustang Club. Is that how you talk to your fellow members? Maybe I would fit right in with my bad attitude.
