DL and OL rotations

Postby Charleston Pony » Sun Sep 14, 2003 5:32 pm

can someone who was at the game and paid attention tell me who saw action on the DL last night? It sounded like Berry played most of the night alongside Adami. Did Bonds see any action? How much rest did the 1st team guys get?

How about the OL? Did any true FR see any time? There was talk that Turner might play. Did he? How many redshirts have been lifted?

The D-line was very effective in the run and pass.Adami played the whole game followed by Karrington(65%) then Bonds(30%) and a few breather snaps by Berry. They all had energy all night. D-ends were spelled by Rogers.

Bonds played most running situations - most first and second downs. And he was tremendous, especially considering it was his first college game. He's going to be a force.

Now we just need a few more like him.

Hoofprint is right. The D-line is starting to have a real situational mix available. Desmond is a freshman that is also Bonds like(300lbs+). With those two as Big DT's, Adami, Karrington and Berry(who are actually big DE's) can match up well with whatever an opponent throws at the D-line. At some point coaches can put Adami and Karrington at DE and cause real missmatches..

I haven't seen enough of Karrington to know his talents, strengths, weaknesses, etc. But I sure wouldn't move Adami outside. We keep reading how he's just too small to play DT, and then he spends the whole game getting into the backfield before the ball gets to the QB. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And Allan Adami is one area of the defense that definitely ain't broke.

Did Randy Denman play last night?
