Hey drs, what's your over/under for DeMyron's yardage on Monday? I say he tops the century mark how about you?
I'll say under, but not by a lot! I figure he will get a large amount of carries trying to wear down the d!

What beating Tech on TV means...Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower

The impact of a win would be great  SportsCenter exposure, visibility to recruits who are watching the only nationally televised game at that hour, a huge swell of pride to PonyFans everywhere.
Let's not forget, however, that Tech is an extremely explosive team, and has the potential, at least, to light up a scoreboard. Should the game get out of hand, I just feel for the loyal fans and moderators on this board who will have to deal with the "sky is falling" crowd. Prepare well, play hard, stay healthy and go for a win.
I'll go one further and go on record with 4+ yards per Carry. (now I'm getting into the crazy talk). -CoS
And I don't think that was even a Jim Harbaugh team yet back then. ![]() GOOOO STANFORD. GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!
Oh, that would make him play harder. That "scandal" was nothing. What was it total - about $60,000? Please. Maurice Clarett is probably still drawing that much to keep his mouth shut.
Re: What beating Tech on TV means...
I would be the most important game in SMU's history... but if we lose the next 11, not so much...
Winning would be an upset, but...The value of a win over Tech is different from predicting it. Losing won't help, but it will not doom the season either. I am on record on other threads as forecasting a 2-2 NC and 5-3 CUSA record for this year. The only thing that could kill SMU this year would be another loss to UNT. So I say again, a win over Tech would make post-DP history. A loss to UNT will cost PB his job.

If wA bad loss to Tech and a poor showing againest NT would be very bad for the gate for the remainder of the season. Wonder if T Dodge would be interested in PB's job. One thing for sure if PB goes we start all over again. Two to four years before we can get this excited again. What coach worth a d..... would take the job.
Re: If wa "bad showing" could mean a lot of things. but we WILL NOT LOSE TO NTSU... And I'm not sure we would want dodge anyways... even as a southlake native i have my doubts (however what he did in Texas high school football was amazing). 2-2 sound ok? WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
Re: If wNot only is this thread not about the North Texas game, it's not even about a loss to Tech  it's about what a WIN over Tech would mean, right? With that said, a loss won't mean a thing. The Mustangs are supposed to lose. Doesn't mean they will, but if they lose, what has SMU lost? Nothing. What has Tech gained? This game is to SMU sort of like the North Texas game was to UNT last year. We all hope for an upset, but in reality, one team has nothing to lose and another team has nothing to gain. Go Mustangs!

i really don't see us beating tech.
Miracles happen. And it will take a freakin' miracle. I'm hoping for one Monday.
I am not calling for a win just yet, but winning as an 8 point home underdog is not a miracle, its not very much of an upset. If NTSU wins in OK, thats a miracle.
Talk about 'dogsA Baylor buddy of mine told me that TCU is a 21 point favorite over the Bears. Now THAT is embarassing. I don't mind being 8.5 points down to Tech compared to the over-inflated odds against Baylor. Geez, if that score holds up, how much will TCU be favored over the ponies when we play each other? When we beat the Pollywogs in 2005, that was a halmark win; but it didn't change history because not enough people actually saw it happen. Once again, if the improbable happens on Monday, then the money gets off our back.
