For your long range tentative planning the conference USA 2007 Bowl ties are:
R & L Carriers Bowl-Dec. 21 in New Orleans
Papa John Bowl-Dec. 22 in Birmingham, AL
Sheraton Hawaii Bowl-Dec. 23 in Hawaii
Texas Bowl-Dec. 28 in Houston
Liberty Bowl-Dec. 29 in Memphis
GMAC Bowl- January 6, 2008 in Mobile, AL
So Pony Up some money for one of these trips.

I'll be at whatever bowl the Ponies play in!
My votes, in order:
1. Liberty (means we win the conference)
2. New Orleans (love the city, let's pump a few dollars back into the economy)
3. Houston (shortest drive)
4. GMAC (interchangable with Papa John, but pizza isn't served in a bowl)
5. Papa John (Mobile and Birmingham are the same place, as far as I know)
6. Hawaii (normally, this would be second after Liberty, but a last-minute ticket to Hawaii will be outrageous)

I believe these are all guaranteed. There is also a conditional tie in to the Ft. Worth bowl this year.

Texas Bowl in Houston, 12/28, has a Big 12 tie-in.

Might be tough to beat Tech twice in the same year.

I agree about the assessment of the Hawaii bowl. It would be a really cool place to watch the mustangs play, but in the interest of getting maaximum numbers of students and fans at the game, it would be best to play in a bowl within the continental united states. Bottom line though, let's go bowling and then worry about how we'll get there.
Go Mustangs! Beat tech!
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Could SMU play Notre Dame in the Papa Johns Bowl?
Notre Dame is not in the preseason Top 30 this year.
That would be sweet.
Lots of publicity.
What a headline: "SMU Beats Notre Dame"!
"THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)

That would be pretty cool! It would have historical meaning as well, since SMU's last bowl game was against ND.
