That's why Odessa doesn't disappear into that giant sinkhole out there in West Texas.

I noticed in today's DMN HS GameTime section that Braden Smith starts the first week off as the top passer in Class 5A based upon his performance last weekend!

I was at the game and this kid is good. He has average receivers and no running game to speak of and still torched the Allen defense all night long.
Class of '91

Hopefully he will not change to NTSU.

Doesn't Dodge's son have that spot sewn up for the next few years?

One of my coworkers went to the Allen v. Rockwall game. I asked him what he thought of the Rockwall Quarterback. He had heavy praise, said he was fast and threw the ball like a dart.

With those kinds of stats, he could play for Dodge at UNT!

For the second straight week in a row, Braden Smith is listed as the top passer in DFW 5A by the DMN with 54 completions out of 84 attempts for 655 yards, 7 TDs, and only 1 interception.

Braden Smith was 16-26 for 290 yards and 0 "NADA" interceptions in Rockwall's 34-27 win over Galand N. Forest. The accuracy of this kid is amazing! And for those of you who don't like short QBs, Kansas has put 48 points up so far in the FIRST HALF against Nebraska behind their 5 foot 9 inch QB Todd Reesing who was the Texas 4A player of the year in 2005. Rivals rated him 3 stars 5.5 when he came out of Texas and claimed that he was 6'0". Just now the announcers of the game said that he was 5'10" if you "stretched it". According to the announcers, no school in Texas made him an offer so he went to KU. Rivals shows that only KU and Duke offered. Looks like some other programs such as A$M, Baylor, and yours truly could have used a QB with this type of ability.
Yeah I like to get bigger players, if possible, but some of these kids, including the 5'9" kid (Aldridge) that we are playing tonight, shouldn't be overlooked if they are real football players!

Do not make us play them tonight. We need one more day to get faster.
