Cant Blame the D

Postby J.T.supporta » Mon Sep 03, 2007 5:50 pm

final minutes of the 3rd and the D is completely tired and exhausted...theyve been on the field 10 more game minutes than the O and didnt get much rest before the INT was thrown.

D seems to be playing hard, but there is still much room for improvment. theyve played good for starting two freshmen on the line. besides a few missed tackles...there are some bright spots on D

What happend to that somewhat explosive Offense people were hoping for?

If the D could have gotten some pressure on the Tech Offense they wouldn't have been on the field quite so long.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

very true, but you cant expect to have a very fresh D on the field when your Offense is going 3 and out.

ok fine, granted i posted this in the 3rd qtr when the game was kinda close, you can blame the D for giving up half a century but when your offense wont allow you to rest...its hard to expect much out of your D

Our D line and especialy our linebackers are undersized. The D line will be adaquate when we get into conference play - but someting needs to happen and fast with the linebackers. If we are saving any freshman - time to throw them in. I will take youthful mistakes over hopeless mismatches.

Our defensive line looked like a bunch of midgets compared to their offensive line. Bennett would rather have the D undersized because our speed obviously can make up for it --------NOT! What an abortion! How can Orsini EVER expect this to be a top 25 team with the lousy playcalling and undersized and inexperienced D and worthless offense that this team runs. Bennett admitted in his post game interview that the team wasn't ready. They was PATENTLY obvious after the first couple of series run by our O. The Defense surprised me that they kept the score below 40 points in the first half especially given the amount of time that they were on the field because the offense didn't have a clue. We might be able to beat North Texas because they obviously also have their share of problems, but I think Bennett will be lucky to win many more games other than that. He has been really high on his recruiting classes since he has been here, but it is now obvious that he is all hot air. I doubt if this performance is going to convince the top recruits that are left on the board that SMU is the place to be. If he is 1-4 after September, it might be time to pull the plug and try to get a new coach ready to go to try and salvage what is left of this recruiting season!

Of course you can blame the defense. The front line put no pressure on the qb. The middle was wide open for the pass. When we did blitz we made it obvious. The db's didn't cover for the inside pass which allowed for it to be open all game long. I am actually disappointed how bad the defense played. True the offense left a lot to be desired especially with all the drop passes. Coach needs to kick some [deleted] in practice and get us back for next weekend.

Look I'm not here to defend anyone after that game, but how many of you are college football coaches with 30 years experience under your belt?

Right. So shutup.

Having said that we're all fan(atics) and that was a dreadful game so get all the [deleted] and moaning over with and move on. If this program really needs a change of direction, I don't mind giving Orsini the benefit of the doubt with his impact over the last two years. Least I'll take it over a bunch of message boarders who do no wrong.

I'm cool. It's just something that needs to be said to clear the air. Everybody's mad, but we, most of the time, don't know more than the professionals. So we all let out a sigh and move on

When I drop 300 BUCKs in the form of 6 season tickets plus another 80 BUCKS in concessions on just this one game plus another 1,500 BUCKS for the Mustang Club on a lousy game like this one and have done so for OVER 30 years, I feel I can say !#$@#!@!#!! anyuthing I want! And I have been a football fanatic for even longer than that so I think I can tell when I am watching a well coached team and one that is not! This team needs to get its act together FAST or it is going to be a long year!
