49-9 egg laying on national television = aghast

Kick returners selfishly fighting over the ball = embarrassed

Great pregame marketing campaign down the tubes = angry

Willis running his own one man misdirection on third down = horrified

Was that Willis or Burns? Not that the reaction should be any different.

Looked to me like the call was option left and Willis just bailed on the play.

No - I think it is a called misdirection keeper - a play that needs to be permanently removed from the playbook. Besides being unproductive and fooling nobody - it risks our best offensive weapon for no reason.

I knew this would happen

SMU was over matched with Tech. This should cure any illusions that a mid-major team that had only a 6-6 record last year can compete with a winning Big 12 BCS team. We are Tech's preseason cupcake like it or not, and will be for years to come unless we do what TCU did when they decided to go BIG time and pay for the kind of winning coach it takes to turn a program around.

Overmatched isn't true. We played horribly in the second half, but after re-watching the game, the only reason the game wasn't tied at halftime was because of our own screwups, not because we were overmatched.

And it definatly was an option call. The teck right end came up free immediately, and instead of pitching early, Willis turned around and ran the other way.

It pains me to say it, but

6-6, 339 avg.
vs.
6-2, 259 avg.

is definitely overmatched.
