• Morstead is amazing. He'll get a chance to play on Sundays.
• Henderson is a freakin' stud. Love watching that guy return kicks.
• DeMyron Martin ran well, and the coaches were right to pull him in the second half. With his injuries last year, there was no reason to have him in there when there's a game we need to win next week.
• Kudos to the coaches for going to the most vanilla offense in the world after the game was out of reach. If we can't have a lot of film on UNT's offense, there's no reason they should get extra tape on ours.
• Some of the new defensive linemen  Yenga, Leonard, Elizee  looked pretty good. Sorry to hear Coach Bennett say Charlie Berry got another stinger. Hope he's OK.
• I liked the fact that Willis looked mad. Obviously he didn't play up to last year's standards, but he also had six or seven passes dropped. At the end of the game, he walked off the field looking like he was ready for the next game right away.

The DT's weren't called on to stop the run very often. Leonard did have a few nice tackles and a sack. Otherwise, there was virtually no pass rush without the blitz. As I said previously, we looked like a bunch of midgets trying to play against grown men.
When Tech did attempt to run in the first half, we stopped it cold. Leonard had a very good game. For a frosh to read that one screen as a tackle and blow it up was very well done. I was really watching them and thought they did a good job. The ends were not as effective. I like the motor on Yenga and Smart, but they were handled pretty easily, although Smart caused some problems in the first quarter. Bad matchup for Handy - he is more of a strength guy, and the Tech blockers really eat that stuff up.

we were strong against the RB screen or short pass. We bottled that up well. They usually get about 80-100 yards on that play but I thought I heard their RBs caught only about 5 passes for short yardage. Did something right there-and that can be a tough play to defense with their huge OLM.

if we don't score at least 30-35 and handily beat unt, i think smu is seriously f'ed. we're not going to get any good recruits in here any time soon if we don't start making some improvements. we have a good qb that decided to come here and our better players are fairly young however if they don't capitalize on the young talent and produce a couple winning seasons our recruiting is going to stay in the toilet.
bad start to the season...

He sure was laughing on the sidelines a lot to be so mad.

Punting and returning kickoffs were definitely the highlights...along with the pretty women at the game!!! Young offensive line from the big 12 definitely out played a young defensive line from the conf. usa...Wanted to see Butler and Martin in same backfield and keeping ball on ground more in first half to keep ball more...Needed to see more of halfback pass out of the backfield whether Martin or another back...would have liked to have seen few long passes to freshmen with speed...Turnovers and penalties attributed somewhat to final outcome of being stomped...When crowd is over 20 thousand, always seems that we are visiting team...Just a few observations....This is one of the losses most of us counted for the year...altho hoping for the best in all games.....Go Mustangs!!!
