Hey, the "O" had the chance last season & he elected to hang with PB-- which is okay with me. But... it's PB's choice to let the OC call plays in the same zip code as our offense that pi$$es me off!

I heard that Steve-O wanted to get rid of Bennett last year.....but there wasn't anymore money to be had....thanks to the "Burgers & Cheer" episode with Tubbs.

That doens't surprise me considering the contract extension given by Copeland the year before. Too many contract buyouts for very little financial gain!
Look for the silver lining in it. Everything was absolutely perfect up until the ball was kicked off. Kudos and hats off to everybody that made this a shining presentation of our school, campus, and program up until we had to play football. The students were there, fans were there, and genuine excitement was there. SMU football can be sold to people. We just can't fall flat on our face trying to do it.
.................I agree that if there is a " silver lining " in today's game, it is that Orsini can and will certainly be capable of selling SMU Football if he has a decent product to sell in the future.

Dude, you didn't hear [deleted]. . .if you are so Mister "Inside" who was going to be the replacement? Orsini would not fire a coach without already having another lined up.

It really does seem like it had to have been really, really hard to imagine such a contradictory outcome with regard to the positive energy put into the presentation today. SMU spent $$ to make the product appear bigtime...it was essentially 'The Ticket 360' with the show from the Blvd, the show from the endzone, and the game. Student section was rocking and ready to be a factor...the Tech fans underperformed, compared to their last appearance at Ford...national TV, ESPN not ESPN2, everybody already looking for a feelgood story from SMU after the other games this weekend, and what do we do?

Lay an egg. Another opportunity pissed away. To the poster that says now we know Steve O is capable of marketing a product like this, maybe so...this time. I don't think his target market will be as openly receptive next time around.

PB GONE

Postby smuhype » Tue Sep 04, 2007 6:58 pm

No doubt ---- Lose to ASTATE and he should be gone.

ORSINI won't wait and he pulls the trigger ---- Would be a big deal in mid season but at least it would wake up a few people to how serious this guy is to get this right!

To back up Kevin Sherrington's story today, I had a number of people that told me they knew of season ticket holders that skipped the game Monday, and would probably do that for the rest of the year. I subscribe to the Captain Smith theory.......I always go down with the ship. And folks, that was a looooong, slow, painful sinking yesterday.

We do need to worry about AR State. They gave TU a run for the money, and Brown looked really pi$$ed several times during the game. This isn't going to be a pretty game.
