I know it it too early to bring up names for coaches, but after what was a coaching debacle yesterday and for the most part of 5 years....hell make that 15 years, I'm throwing out his name. LB coach at USC and has done an amazing job. They have the best LBs in the country and he is one of the best recruiters in the nation. Will be up for any DC job at any BCS school in the country next year he wants

He is a firery coach. Would get Dallas excited about SMU and imagine him coming into HS players homes in Texas with 3 Cowbys superbowl rings.

Look, we are not going to get Steve Maruci or Rick Neuhiesel. Just a thought.

Are kids too young nowadays to appreciate Norton's rings? I have the number 3 in front of my age and I remember watching Norton during his career.

Well I'm not putting up with this second rate coaching we have. It's not just one game. OVer the past five years I have seen nothing out of Bennett to suggest he is anything more than a good position coach who knows a lot of high school coaches in texas.

It's not one loss. It's an embarassing loss and the team looking terribly under prepared and the inabilty to make adjustments on either side of the ball. It's not the loss that bothers me nor am I a guy who screems for a head coaches job after one bad loss. You can't blame a coach for dropped passes or missed tackles. It's five years of this that is killing me. In his 6th season, I just want to see us make the leap to being prepared, playing hard, and playing disciplined....and have a defense that at least has D-1 size. I'm not asking for a victory, I'm asking not to get humiliated and I put that on the coaching.

You guys might throw tomatoes at me for asking this. Is there anyone left on the Bobby Collins coaching tree that might be a good fit? I am serious.

I don't know if he's on the Collins tree, but Jeff Bower coaches So Miss, as did Collins, and it seems like they tried getting him on the Hilltop at some point. He declined, if memory serves.

Do we REALLY NEED another Defensive minded HC???

Look at the success PB has had so far...not so great

If we go after a HC...lets go get somewhere with a great mind for the SPREAD O

Relax, C-usa is weak & our schedule lends toward a winning season.

We're gonna go 7-5, make it to the Texas Bowl, lose to another Big XII wannabe BCS school on TV, and, ... be stuck with the status quo.

Enjoy SMU FB...

Man are we predictable or what. One loss and we're already looking a possible replacements to Coach Bennett. Unfortunately, I don't know that a post about Ken Norton, Jr. is about firing Bennett, so that I could ignore it. Next time if you're going to propose new coaches, at least put in your title the words "Replacement Coach". I would love to have a rant room so that you guys can rant and wet yourselves on one page that I can ignore.

For all of you that think it is too early to pass judgement, you are wrong.
This group of coaches has had years to prove themselves. We are not passing judgement based upon one game, but on several seasons.
Personally, I mark the status of our improvement against our yearly game against Tech. I haven't seen any improvement since last year's game. Our players are better, faster and generally larger than in past years. But, the coaching, the sideline "chicken dance", the play calling has not improved. ESPN showed the nation just how witless these coaches are!
The only improvement shown to me is we no longer run the swinging gate on PAT's, oh I forgot, we didn't have any touchdowns, therefore no PAT attempts.
Fire the coach now, no, but start looking for their replacements...
