Here's your answer, T-sipper:
Screw you and all the other BCS schools. End the BCS, give everyone a shot at the title and the talent gets spread out more among all the schools - not compacted into the USCs and UTs of the world.
SMU COULD compete bettter if it got a few bluechippers every year because it had a CHANCE -no matter how slim- to go all the way.
You guys who think your BCS school "belongs" are full of it. The BCS system just makes the haves stronger.

That guy's cool and has more class as a UT fan than you have as a human being, mr. p. Screw you back, you arrogant jack@ss.

Well...first of all, he is classy enough to be interested in and supportive of SMU football despite it's lackluster condition. If that is not enough for you, then you need to do some soul searching.

I'm suprised no one mentioned the money we make playing these games. I'm for those games for that reason alone. Heck, I even liked watching a full stadium for most of the game on tv. With both team's fans wearing red, it almost looked like SMU fans care about supporting their football team.

They did. What mattered was the entire student section was packed, and for the most part the didn't leave the stadium nearly as distraught as we all are. It was great until someone asked me this morning...
"Hey how was the game yesterday"
"What game?"
"The football game."
"What you mean OUR game?"
"Yeah who won?"
sigh...really?

I just think it's hypocritical to talk [deleted] about the BCS as a whole and bellyache about the fact that SMU is not in a BCS conference yet then say they are not ready to play BCS schools (which I think is false - Texas Tech is a good team, there are plenty of BCS schools that I think SMU could beat).
And for the record, I'm saying that Nacho is making these assertions, but just that they have been made here before (sorry if it looks as though I'm calling you out).
You have it all wrong, there are teams outside the BCS that are capable of competing with BCS Teams. For Example, TCU. Unfortunately, SMU isn't on the same level as a TCU or Boise State. These are programs that create success practically every season.
Everyone forgets the fact that when TCU first began their rise they played a very weak non-conference schedule. After a few years of proven success they began to slowly schedule 1 or 2 BCS caliber teams. We are in way over our heads playing Tech, Ok state, etc. at this stage in our development.
How can you ask SMU fans to pay full price for a ticket and then expect them to be okay when the team gets completely embarrassed. I know we don't have a huge budget but we're not UNT, West Texas AM, Sam Houston State, Arkansas State. We are cheating our fans and our players by scheduling these games we have no chance to win!
