re: You doubted my word????

Actually yes because I thought that was the reason I have never left the TCU stadium and came back in. Now I am not sure why I have never exited.

I would think at SMU's current level of attendance there should be as few barriers as possible of preventing anyone wanting to enter and watch a game.

I understand why they are doing it, but right now I would say it is an unwise move to ever prevent a paid fan from entering the stadium to sit in the stands.

Maybe if the stands are full every game but we can not afford to be picky at this time.

I don't. Once you are in, the attendance is counted. Why not let them go back out at halftime?

So you will buy their hamburger instead of going outside and eating mine.

re: I don't. (understand why they are doing it)

Again I don't support the "no re-entry" or think it is a wise move at this time, but jtstang to me it's obvious why they are doing it.

They think if everyone at halftime runs to the BLVD they can't be spending money inside the stadium and I am sure they are concerned that people are going to the BLVD and just decide to not return.

Why don't rock concerts allow re-entry? There must be a reason?

Anyone know if you can re-enter a Cowboys or Mavericks game?

If someone wants to go to the Vard at half time and not return, they can do that now...however, with re-entry available, it becomes a choice that can change unlike now where there is no choice. I doubt that many more than a small percentage of the folks in the stadium would make use of a re-entry policy...most are too lazy to trek over to the Vard and back. When we were at the Cotton Bowl, the whole area outside the main gates was treated like an extension of the stadium and beer and eats were sold out there, but everyone could get back in and see the game as the spirit(s) moved them. Some probably stayed out there longer than others. They need to drop the no re-entry policy IMHO.

Very well stated PK.

How are we in any position to tell anyone that has paid for a ticket: "No you can't come back in and fill an empty seat"?

I would hope Steve Orsini will reconsider enforcing this policy until further notice.

Orsini and the Athletic Department changed the policy last year to Allow In and Out at one Game. Gate #4.

SMU used to allow it when we were at the Cotton Bowl so that people could go outside and get a cold beer and return. Back then it was a 2 drink maximum so you had to chug the third if you wanted back in. Do you think that beer sales would have helped fill up the remaining 5,000 empty seats?

I was at the Notre Dame game Saturday; they do allow re-entry. I think every Big 12 South team allows re-entry. You can come and go at the Cowboys game all day long, and they don't care.

I was able to leave and re-enter the game this past Saturday. My wife became ill during the first half (not from watching the game!) and I had to take her home. I told one of the 'yellow vests' who then directed me to a 'blue shirt'. He told me to come back to that gate and have my ticket. I did about 30 minutes later. The same 'blue shirt' was there and allowed me to re-enter.

The 'yellow vest' said the only exception to the 'no re-entry rule' is a medical emergency.

If the Mustangs continue playing like they did last Saturday, everyone can just say they're getting sick.

The entire pre-game system was dysfunctional. In addition to the NEW no-entry policy, other problems were:

[1] The students couldn't get in on the NE side;
[2] On the SW side, our FB recruits waited in lines & had to weave around an ESPN truck to get tix;
[3] At the same time, blue-haired ladies stood next to walkers while bags were checked by the yellow shirted security "Nazis" searching for umbrellas & other contraband that senior senior citizens are prone to sneak into FB games.

It was amateurish at all levels...
