Not if you were among the group that took the roadie to Houston in 1989.

Enlighten those of us that weren't old enough to talk then.

That's true, to a degree. I came into town and visited a friend who teaches at SMU. Supposedly his whole department went to the game, and even though they submitted their form (or fax or whatever) for their tickets together, they were given tickets spread out all over the stadium. He also had asked for a ticket near mine, and we were on opposite sides of the stadium from each other.

I know the athletic department hired some guy from FC Dallas to drum up ticket SALES, but the distribution of tickets and the treatment of loyal paying customers need to be seriously re-addressed.

Well, let's just say the Cougar fans were salivating over the prospect of hangin' 100 on the Mustangs and counted off every point after each score (and still do). Final score: 95-21 with 1,021 yards of offense by the Coogs. John Jenkins, the offensive coordinator for UH, said that SMU stacked the line and gave up the long ball.

Didn't Notre Dame take a knee on third down that year?

Well I know the stories of Jugular John, the score, and Gregg's refusal to shake hands. Just wondering about any horror stories from fans.

And I understood that faculty and staff had to get their tickets at the gate and walk through. They should have all been in General Admission (End Zone) unless they paid $47 apiece. True?

i sat on the west side near the 50, upper deck. lots of dads with smaller kids (7-12) sitting around me. i watched the dad with his 10 yr old sitting in front of me cringe while the great mustang fan behind me used the worst kind of profanity [deleted] constantly about the hc and the coaching staff every time a play went against us. i am not a church of christ member and i am not 80 years old, and i have heard all those words before. but the jerk monday wasn't a lone exception this last couple years. I don't really care to hear much about the lack of civility of the opponents fans until OUR OWN jerks clean up their act. the product on the field isn't the only thing driving away the crowds these days.

Unfortunately, civility and self control in our society is fast becoming a culture of the past. Respect for others and awareness of one's surroundings is lost in each individual's self centered little world. We certainly have the right of free speech, but with every right comes a duty of using it responsibly . Of course in many instances the liberal downing of spirited beverages fogs many a mind...and judgement. If only some of these people realized what jackasses they make of themselves at times like this maybe they would use better judgement...but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I had a friend that was sitting on the Tech side with some people from her work and the Tech fans were calling her whore (if that was censored, it rhymes with door and starts with wh) for wearing a SMU shirt. I hate Tech fans. Worst fans and they have the perfect jerk of a coach to represent them.

There were three SMU fans sitting in our row in Sec. 124, which was pretty much entirely Tech fans. I never heard anybody say a word to them.

Unfortunately, a few idiots always find their way in.

I wanted to see Potts plus GH was better off resting his ankle after one of our huge OL stepped on it earlier in the game.

I heard a SMU fan talking smack in my section to Tech fans on the way to his seat pulling his 5 yr old son along. I just ignored it. People that go looking for trouble generally find some. I just ignore those people and try to watch the game.

I will say SMU fans were much nicer at least in my experience compared to TCU. Also yall have a much nicer stadium. As we got out of the car to go to the TCU game some of their students yelled from across the four lane street for us to &%#@ ourselves. It was especially special for the TTU family that parked next to us as they got their young children out of the SUV. That was my first experience going to a game at Amon G. Carter stadium.

I assure yall as well as we give it… we get it right back.

Anybody that swears around little kids deserves whatever they get.

I got a couple of guys tossed at a Cowboy game for swearing around my nephew a few years ago. I wouldn't hesitate to do it at Ford and I hope no else would either. Of course, I ask people politely to stop first. But when they do it around their own kid ... well, there are other problems with that.

I can really only think of two uncomfortable swearing incidents at Ford Stadium. Unfortunately, one was Tech 2004. The other was the famous incident where Cavan's daughter went bananas and started berating BrianTinBidD's brother at the TCU Game in 2000.

I would like to add that after my 14 year old daughter told the boy to "Just Shut Up", that he did stop. Then again, my daughter could have whipped his arse.

While I am sorry some Tech fans went over the edge...you also need to realize that many of our fans were treated like crap as well. I wasn't able to go to the game (live 5 1/2 hours from Dallas), this is a good example of how several Tech fans were treated. Don't bother clicking on the YouTube link...but just read through the thread...
