I guess Tech is addressing the nasty behavior in LubbuckAthletic spirit and sportsmanship campaign launched. Written by Blayne Beal July 26, 2007 [i] Texas Tech Athletics has unveiled its Raider Power Spirit and Sportsmanship Campaign designed to enhance school spirit and promote healthy sportsmanship across the university campus and the city of Lubbock. “Sportsmanship is an issue that is very important to us,†C-ya @ Milos!
Are you kiddin' me?
After 32 years of attending games in podunk (read Lubbock), along with Auburn & Baton Rouge & Columbus, OH., it is quite obvious that some of our college football bretheren really could give a s$_t about sportsmanship. I respect Gerald Meyers and think he is a very good man. But when it comes to tt, he has his plate loaded trying to sell anything other than vulgaritiy and violence to his fans.
Problem with this is this "campaign" was launched in July, and while there were some friendly Tceh fans around me, the vulgar/offensive @$$holes were worse than I remember from any previous game. This is just a PR move, there is no way they are going to change the mentality of an entire institution that has been going on for generations.
It’s not going to work because most of the tech fans never graduated or attended tech and can not read the notice.
