two plays that broke our backs

Postby Hoop Fan » Thu Sep 06, 2007 8:36 am

watched the TT tape last night for a few minutes and it wasnt as bad as it seemed on monday. Two plays really broke our back i think. When we were driving for a our second field goal (should have been a TD), the rythym of the drive got broken on a dropped pass over the middle on 2 and 4 that would have gotten us inside the 15. you could see willis get frustrated visibly. The second play was on Tech possession to end the first half. We had them 3rd and 10 from their own 40. almost got to harrell for the sack, he threw a duck off of his back foot over the middle, and somehow it got to their little reciever for first down. look like an interception at least half the time on tape.

those were killer plays, but our team speed looked pretty good and we stood up to them ok phyically. granted, i didnt have the heart to watch the second half.

another killer was the the third down pass that PB challenged couldnt tell if he caught it or not but Harrell just threw that one in the air and someone came down with and they went on to put it in the endzone.

I see we're avoiding mention of the fumble in the 4th quarter.... Not that it broke our back, we were well nigh crippled by that stage but it might have given us a TD. I don't think we were too far from 3 TDs in the game, but not too far does not get you Ws.

Yep. And crying about it helps rectify the situation.

The two plays that broke our back was the TTU slant (we never stopped it and they never missed it) and the kickoff return. Mapps and Henderson looked like T-ball players fighting over a fly in left field.
