the past two years i've been here i've stayed till the end of pretty much every smu sporting event. but when i see the kind of display on the field like i saw on monday, i confessed that i left at the end of the third quarter. there is no way in heck im going to support that kind of display till 0:00 on the clock. you can bash my loyalty or say whatever you want, to support that game till the end is ludicrous

Does anyone know who the 2 or 3 players are who quit the team following Monday's loss to Texas Tech because coach Bennett kept them in the Mustang locker room for over two hours chewing their a**es out because of their poor performance against the Red Raiders?
Any truth to this?
Hey dumba$$, the players trickle out after each game from the locker room. Parents, families & friends would have been howling had such an event occurred. If PB held the team captive for a couple of hours, EVERYONE on campus would have known.
If PB had kept even 2-3 players from leaving, even the sports writers would have been covering such a behind-the-scenes event.
You, sir, need to go AWAY...

I have been laughing at this post, Come on guys this is funny. Wow ,what rumor going to come up next!
First of all, He always chewing some body out. I guess he has to take his frustration out on them , sure can't take it out on his wife. After all, he did not do his job as a coach. I said before the game, our team was as good as tech's but it would come down to the coaching. What in the world was going on out in that feild? I had to look around make sure I was at the right stadium. I sure don't want to hear that they had a bad day,What was all that Summer practice about? Look like we had QB that didn't learn from playing Rice , neither did the Coach.
Believe me, they better shape up. Arkansas will beat us with everything they got. and yes I will be at that game too.

Here's to hoping it is, anyway.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Ugh. I gotta tell you...maybe it is indeed Bennett, but I have to agree with the Sarge...uh...I mean General....
Take the chewing, grow a pair, and play football. Too much attitude in the locker room.
if you want someone to rub your back and tell you "you're the best" call your mom...if you want to play d1 football check your panties at the door
Why can't I wear panties, they are softer and feel better against my nether regions than going commando.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?
Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.

I find it interesting that some responded to the charge of being "fans" by leaving early and then attempting to justify because they didn't like the caliber of play.
If you guys want to go with that, then by all means.
What I also find interesting is that so many of you were so quick to chew [deleted] on this board immediately calling for Bennett's dismissal, talking about new coaching candidates, the playcalling stunk, the all-out stuff from the defense and so on...
To be fair, there is some validity to them.
But you guys are so good at dishing it out but then when you catch some grief about your inability to stay until the end, WE GET A LITTLE OVERSENSITIVE, don't we. Touched a nerve maybe?
It doesn't feel too good, does it? What goes around comes around.

Hey Patton! This isn't Hamburger Hill. Yeah I stayed until the end of the game, so what. That doesn't make me a better or worse fan than anyone else on this board. I have seen people's attitude on the board change over and over again. What everyone is upset about is how this program keeps "Crying Wolf". You can't keep telling everyone that "This is the Year!", "We have a great team!" and get everyone pumped up for a killing. Eventually we are going to have to quit the pre-season ra ra and actually put a team a team together.

you also can't judge an entire season based on 1 game...

Very well said. And mind you, this is coming from a huge Mustang supporter, former player, and person who is still very close to many in the football program, not from the gloom squad or the pessimistic camp. To me that is very telling.

MiMi,
do you think it's a good idea for family member of a player to bash the coach and Quarterback on a public forum? This was a team loss, everyone had a part in.
