Event Is Part Of SMU's Lettermen's Reunion Weekend
Sept. 6, 2007
DALLAS (SMU) - Members of SMU's 1972 Southwest Conference Championship basketball team will be honored at the end of the third quarter of the SMU-UNT football game on Saturday. Almost the entire squad will be in attendance, including that season's seniors Larry Delzell, Bobby Rollings, and David Miller.
The event, which is part of SMU's Lettermen's Reunion Weekend, will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the 1972 team. The squad went 16-11 under coach Bob Prewitt with a 10-4 league mark to share the conference crown with Texas. The Mustangs fell just short of an NCAA bid after a 91-89 playoff game loss to the Longhorns in Waco. Ruben Triplett earned first-team All-SWC honors for the Mustangs.
