Once again, I don't get..who are you people? I go to 2-3 games a year and have NEVER been hassled by ANYONE about my camera, my boubon bottle..I park easily, get my tickets IN SECONDS at will call...spend a few bucks AND a few minutes buying a coke during the game...35 minutes to get a hot dog? really? or, was it more like 8, but [deleted] is more fun?
I see only improvements / upgrades..and NO, I am not a kool aid drinker...just freakin' sick and tired of the spoiled [deleted] babies on this board. If this ALL sucks sooooo much, don't come...please, don't come. I think that 2/3rds. of you would [deleted] if you won PowerBall..damn taxes!! GO MUSTANGS!!! BEAT Arkie State.
If you have not noticed the hassles, you are blind.
I personally got stopped 4 (four) times going into the parking garage. No kidding, I went five feet, with pass displayed and each person stopped me. If you tailgate with more than one person aiding in the set-up, you have had a problem. I ask you this, when in the President coming? DBB
ok mr. contrarian about everything. have you actually attended either game THIS year? people are obviously noting the difference this year compared to previous years. Even if you have been there, there are enough people noticing this that there must be something to it.
Went to the Ole [deleted] / Mizzou game yesterday....they have an in / out policy, just like SMU, you think it is a hassle at an SMU game? Try getting to the Grove, unloading, parking and finding a bathroom, etc., etc...95% of you wannabes wouldn't last 3 minutes in Oxford. Also, NEW Grove policy, NO BOOZE....so, we want to be big time,,,welcome to it.
Ole [deleted] stadium was not full, students left early in the 3rd. Q, bathrooms were rank, consessions we average, probably same type folks working there as SMU...damn, might as well shut the whole Ole [deleted] gameday thing down, based on what we complain about... Ever been to a Tennessee game..talk about lines!! Ever try to park at an Auburn game? Forget it.....ever taken a dump at War Memorial in Little Rock? Nasty... I stood in a Will Call line at a Georgia Tech game for almost 45 minutes 2 years ago..WWHHAAAAAAAAA! Get over it...how freakin' hard is it to get a hot dog with only 9200 people in the stands? If the game starts at 3, don't show up at 2:40 at the Will Call window...sorry the parking guys stopped you 3x, how insulting, did you find a parking spot?? Who wants to be part of this [deleted] and moaning negative pitty party crap?? Wonder why we can't draw more alums in? and plain old folks from the DFW area?..probably has more to do with OUR attitude versus the number of ice cubes in our $5 Dr. Pepper... Get over it...
What are they doing to enforce the "no booze" policy in the Grove?
Not here to pile on, honestly. I think SMU gets more right than wrong, but what it gets wrong doesn't take a lot of common sense to fix.
Number one thing is they need big signs and parking staff at the intersection of Mockingbird and Bishop. Every game, we get stuck behind people without parking passes who think they can turn into Bishop and find a spot. We end up waiting and waiting while they talk to the attendant, then try to make a difficult U-turn and head back toward Mockingbird. This happens EVERY GAME. It would make it a whole lot easier on everyone, people with and without passes, if there were signs and parking attendants making it clear that if you don't have a parking pass, don't turn onto Bishop. As for the Boulevard itself, other than the previously stated complaints, they need to outlaw dogs. There were lots and lots of dogs out there, some of them running loose. One of them tried to charge Peruna. One of the Peruna handlers kicked him away. It could have gotten really ugly. The Boulevard is not a dog park. Leave the pups at home. Of course, my guess is most people with dogs aren't even going to the game. We're getting closer and closer to the day where you can't have access to The Boulevard without a game ticket. Fine by me. And lastly, in the first quarter yesterday you had Texas A&M in overtime against Fresno State, and Texas and TCU had already been playing for an hour. No scores provided by the scoreboard or P.A. Everyone where I was sitting was buzzing about those games, but we couldn't get any scoring updates. SMU needs to sell college football, not just SMU football. On the positive side, by the second quarter they had a score ticker going on the video screen. Awesome! Only minor complaint: It was way too hard to read the small white lettering against the light red background. It needs a darker background (blue, perhaps?) and maybe larger type. But it was really nice not to have to take my entire focus away from the SMU game just to get some scores.
Um, actually, i waiting 15 minutes the first time, and gave up because i was pissed off i had already missed the entire first quarter due to the ticket conundrum. Then, the second time, I went and waited 35 minutes: *the guy in front of me was charged $60 for two cokes on his CC and the entire line had to wait while they radioed someone with the know-how on how to do a return. *i ordered the Sausage (which they were out of), nachos (which i was informed all their cheese was frozen hence they couldnt sell nachos), so i settled on a hot dog. yes, 35 minutes.
"ever taken a dump at War Memorial in Little Rock?"
Not sure about Little Rock, but I took a good one; just before kickoff in Fayetteville in 1996. We beat the Hogs 23-10 that day! Mabey I should find a Panchos in Jonesboro ![]()
Raise the Flag
You're in Sherwood...it's the 'garden spot' of Little Rock. ![]()
