The Arkansas State-Memphis football game scheduled for tonight
has been postponed until Thursday, Sept. 27 after continued lightning
near Indian Stadium prevented the game from getting underway.

Game officials cleared the field when thunderstorms moved into
the Jonesboro area just before the scheduled 6:00 p.m. kickoff,
and at approximately 8:45 p.m., officials from both universities
agreed to postpone the game. Thunderstorms are predicted to
linger in the Jonesboro area throughout the night.

Tickets for tonight’s game will be honored at the Thursday, Sept. 27
makeup game, which will kick off at 6:00 p.m. at Indian Stadium.

(sorry did not notice this was already listed)

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

More time to rest/heal any injuries?

Or is idol time a bad thing?

Guess we'll see.

Go Mustangs!

Depends on whether or not Simon Cowell comes back.

Seriously I see no real advantage or disadvantage. They had healing time but they have less experience for the season. They could not prepare any more for us because they were focused on Memphis. I think it is a wash with SMU if anyone having a slight advantage by playing one more game. Of course everyone keeps saying the most improvement is between the first and second game and we have now become their second game. The key for SMU will be to see if we have learned how to win on the road.

How peculiar.

Notice the ones behind the umbrellas looking left and right because they can not see. I think the no umbrella policy is good. Any game I have ever attended with umbrellas open in the rain has 1. obscured my view and 2. let water roll down the umbrella on to my legs. If people know the policy, they can bring a poncho which is what I do. I bought one for $3.76 and carry it in my back pocket if the weather is questionable. This also allows jtstang more room in the seat next to me.

Why are people so mad about the "no umbrellas" policy? Many stadiums around the country have the same policy and it is a good one....They are annoying and block the view of the game. I know Penn State has this rule in Happy Valley and it is strictly enforced.

If it is raining or might rain....bring a rain slicker...or better yet....just get wet!

Sorry folks there has been a no umbrella policy at SMU and most college football stadiums for many years. Welcome to College Football. Go sit under the bleachers if you don't want to get wet. I prefer watching the game rather than your umbrella.

I don't necessarily have a problem with no umbrellas, but I have a problem with SMU not embracing a revenue opportunity when one exists. Go to DisneyWorld when it starts raining, and you'll see all the shops & kiosks whip out cardboard boxes full of ponchos. A couple of years ago when it started raining at a Tenn-ND game, next thing you know all that ugly orange sherbet was sporting ND blue ponchos.

At Ford on Labor Day? No ponchos. They should have boxfulls available...$5 when the sun is shining, $20 when it's raining.

Check our message board. A lot of heated talk about the lack of an umbrella policy.

I think its a wash. ASU missed valuable game experience for the second five on the offensive line and spent the entire week working on the Memphis game plan so no real difference between playing a game and not other than the team is less banged up but missed a chance to work together under game conditions.
