Don't you people read? My post stated there were only 2 weeks before the first game and 5 days between games. I don't care when the schedule was released. There is absolutely no way to learn 2 new shows in 3 weeks. Even the old administration (yes my days) we would not attempt that. I even remember repeating shows at home because we did not have time to learn a new show.

And you can bet the house, you will see something different on the 29th.
Just send 'da money.

Fiddler on the motorhome? Sorry, the opening was there. Had to take it.

Looking forward to the 29th. Do us proud. And do it loud.

I go to Ford to watch football. At half-time I pee. My wife likes to watch the band.

You must have a huge bladder or a visit to your urologist may be in order.

Lazy? Are you stupid? Do you have an inkling of what it takes to get a show together, or even play an instrument? They released the schedule in February; did you want us to begin putting together field shows in between basketball games? Did you want us to take part-time positions at 7-11 instead of full-time jobs at firms? Putting on 2 field shows in under a week is absolutely impossible. You're ignorant and unreasonable if you do not realize that.

Did the show sound lackluster on Monday? Probably so. Ever played a cold horn covered in water? Didn't think so. It sounds bad. Next time, I guess you would prefer we sit in the stands with our panchos on, fearing wetness.

Before you get on here and talk crap about the Mustang Band, realize that we could be the TCU band, the UNT band, the LHB, or EVERY OTHER COLLEGE BAND IN THE NATION, and play the SAME SHOW at EVERY GAME for the WHOLE YEAR. You have no idea the amount of dedication, blood, and sweat goes into what we do for the University. We are THE HUB OF SMU SPIRIT for a reason, not because we thought it would be a pretty name. You disgruntled alumni need to quit complaining about how miserable you are because SMU did this, or the Mustang Band did that. Get over yourselves.

Your show on Labor Day was terrible. It didn't work. But if you read what other people thought about Saturday, they said you sounded better.

Good. But for heaven sakes drop the candy striped jackets. It looks like they were picked out of Big Lots.

The candy stripe jackets are the coolest (temperature wise) jackets the band has to wear. And since it's been as hot as it has, the directors are being considerate having the band members wear them rather than the others. And they have to sit in the sun all game. Give them a break.

They take their jackets off when they are in the stands. They really need either long sleeves or to have a jacket on the whole game. Short sleeves and a bow tie just don't looked "best dressed".

My wife, not the most knowledgable on football but quite the fashion lady reamarked at how hideous the NTSU band looked in those wrinkled, shabby outfits.

OK I am done with band stuff for the rest of my life.

Apparently the week before at OU they were allowed to wear whatever shorts they wanted. Including rainbow stripped. Their fans were....less than pleased.

While that is true, it was hard to understand exactly what they were doing on Labor Day. That was more like taking up space.

But it's nice to hear they rebounded on Saturday -- even though it was a repeat performance.

I don't want to pile on, because the band really did sound alot better.....

but I remember learning two shows before school started in 2002 for games against Navy and Tech on 8/31 and 9/7.

Just a constructive suggestion.

And how about more Perunas?

For all those that don't know.... There is a new sheriff in town. The M Band directors are told when to play. There actually is a person in front of the band who tells the band when they can play and when they can't play. Since the ads have to be played that cuts into the time that the band can play on time outs. Before an individual gets on this board and talks about things that they don't know, why don't you send an email to the band directors or call them. In fact, I have no respect for any ex-bandsperson who gets on this board and mouths off before they talk to the directors and find out what the real deal is. As far as the others cats who get on this board and open their .....never mind ...they are not worth it...

I've never been a big fan of our band, too small. It's embarrassing when we throw 50 people on the field, like everything else at SMU it smacks of minor league.

Not the bands fault that they're small, and I guess I wouldn't care if they trotted out a 1,000 kids. To be honest the only band I've ever thought was cool is Ohio State when they do that march and spell Ohio and dot the "i"...really cool.
