Andrew McKinneyHe is the only guy that is laying people out week in and week out. If we are not going to utilize him at Tight End, then we should move him to Linebacker. His size, speed, and athletic ability is much needed on that side of the ball.
when he was recruited, I thought this guy was going to be our FB and lead blocker for Demyron running out of the I formation. Oh well, I guess that was never even considered.
I'm not a football coach, and I'm not going to say I can do a better job than people who are paid to, but what's wrong with lining up under center in the I-formation, handing the ball to Martin and letting him run behind McKinney? How could it hurt to try it once? The line loves to run block, apparently this kid plays high energy lights out, and it seems to be widely agreed upon that Martin would be more effective running north-south with a head of steam.
So am I missing something?
The current regime is married to the spread, it's too late to change now Dallas Mavericks - 2011 NBA CHAMPIONS!
Long live the Circle of Champions!
In my opinion, the offense is going to be dictated by the offensive line. If they can not move the defense off the ball, all the Andrew McKinney's in the world will not help. So you go to a quick hit, short pass style. That takes excettional talent in the skill positions. We are a little short in the over powering line, and a little slow in our skill positions to dominate anyone. We can move the ball and score, but not on a consistant basis.
Same on defense. It starts with the line and works backward to the LBs and then the DBs. BUS has said it many times and it is true. You need a herd of big men on both sides of the ball and then you can build whatever type of offense and defense you wish. I think all of us, including me are basing our recruiting on the skill position athletes and not paying enough attention to the kids we really need...the linemen.
I pay attention to offensive lineman recruiting-each and every offensive lineman who PLAYS this year was a sleeper-not one of them were highly recruited. We start a 5.3, a 5.2 a 5.2 a non rated scholarship player and another who originally came to SMU as a non-scholarship player. Recruiting failure-you reap what you sow.

Yup. I'm amazed that kid got up at all, much less got up as quickly as he did. Plagiarize!
Let no one else's work evade your eyes. Remember why the good lord made your eyes. So don't shade your eyes, just Plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize! (Only be sure always to call it, please .... "research.")
