Beside the MWC is what you wanted when you dropped CUSA.
Thanks WP...but, for the record, I did not drop CUSA. As I've said many times, a non-BCS conference is a non-BCS conference. It doesn't really matter to me which one we're in because our attendance is about the same and our national perception seems to be about the same. The longer this BCS crap is out there, the more I find myself losing interest in college football in general...and I LOVE college football (still).

as much as the froggies suck i still think they score 45 points in the first half before our team even realizes the game has started
SMU football: only for the desperately hopeful

The powers that lead TCU wanted the MWC and the Toads did get raped by their conference mates on scheduling. Both AFA and BYU are Thursday games following tough Saturday games. But of course the Froggies did ask for this when they joined the MWC despite warnings from many that they would be treated like the red haired step-child. What happened to that guarantee of Saturday only games for the Frogs?
That said, TCU goes down this weekend like Paris.

Well said - Reed. I would be willing to bet that there are several million people that feel the same. Especially with all the other oncoming sports & things to do outside of sports, college footbal 10-20 years from now may be far smaller in audience appeal. If this thing with the bcs-BS doesn't turn around soon, there is not telling what may happen.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Don't know. Like most fans, I wasn't involved in the negotiations and have no idea what was or was not guaranteed. The good part about the MWC, at least selfishly, is that I get to see more games on tv now (by far) than I did in the WAC or CUSA days. Yea - they may be on CSTV or Versus but I'll get to watch just about every game live (either TV or in person). Don't get me wrong - I am in no way endorsing the crappy tv deal from a national standpoint but it works for the fans. And I can't blame the Thursday night loss on scheduling...we didn't convert in the red zone on multiple occassions despite moving the ball fairly consistently.

So I told the five year old and the two year old we were going to Fort Worth on Saturday. And you know how they responded?
The only way little kids can. "ZOO TRAIN!"

I hate the horned frogs. Regardless of who wins the game, they're still TCU and they still suck at life.

TCU has a QB problem that might keep the score under 50 points. Losing to the AFA is different than losing to ASU. Reedfrog is absolutely right about the MWC still being non-BCS. The BE has recovered and it will take court action to break up the cartel. In the mean time, I hate being road kill.

ReedFrog is a beacon of intelligence and sanity in a sea of purple. His posts over the years have always been pretty much dead on. He was not one of the "I don't want to play SMU anymore becuase they pull us down" TCU fans.
In fact - for some reason - If I can recall from the years of posts - I think ReedFrog was actually a PK on one of the 90s TCU teams (pre LT).
I don't expect it to happen, but I would not be surprised if SMU went out and beat TCU. Why? Because SMU never makes sense. There have been situations the last three years where we were sure the season was over, and SMU unexplicably won. SMU beat a better UAB team with the Romo miracle. SMU beat a better UTEP team at home Thanksgiving weekend a couple of years ago. SMU should have beaten a better Marshall team at Marshall were it not for a bad call. SMU was being handled by Tulsa in the first half last year...and found a way to win. On the flipside, SMU had Houston and Rice dead to rights last year and found a way to lose. For these reasons, while I again don't expect a win (quite the contrary, in fact), I wouldn't be shocked if SMU won.
........................Sorry, with a defense like SMU's that can't stop basically anything, I don't see us with any chance of beating the frogs. I mean TCU could come out so flat it is unbelievable, and I don't think it would make a difference. Even if TCU struggles some on offense, we are not going to be able to move the ball with much success against the frogs defensive front.
