Will Justin Willis transfer after the season?

Postby McClown27 » Sun Sep 23, 2007 9:27 am

What do people think? Will he be around next year? Or, will he go to MM1965's alma mater?

you want to back up that statement with more than a blanket statement? I see him laying it on the line every week-what am I missing. Where does this lack of a winning attitude exhibit itself? We are all interested.

Relax Stallion. Our friendly troll is here to rankle the masses. Many of us don't always agree with what you say, but at least you back up your opinions with information that caused you to reach those opinions, which is why so many — whether we agree or disagree with you — at least consider what you have to say and generally value your opinions.

Willis isn't going anywhere, regardless of what happens in the coach's office, and to suggest he has anything but a winning attitude is just foolish. I've talked to him, and he exudes confidence — in himself, his teammates, his coaches and the program in general. Perhaps some of it was said just because I'm an alum who wanted to shake his hand, but you can tell what kind of a guy he is when you talk to him. He'd have to sit out a year and then would only have one year left to play, and if you know him at all, you know he's the football version of a gym rat. He eats, breathes and sleeps football. He already is re-writing the record book at SMU, and will stick around to finish that job. He also will be the first QB in a long time to lead the Ponies into a bowl game.

we would be lucky if our OL, DL, LBs, RBs, DBs, WRs, and special teams gave the same effort that justin gives every week. i know the guys are trying but NOT ONE PERSON on this team has put their @ss on the line like JW.

Look for PB to leave with class

Postby Doak's Ghost » Sun Sep 23, 2007 1:49 pm

I fully expect PB to leave with class, having urged his players to stay and play for whomever comes next. Players usually wonder what will happen to them in the next regime, but Willis need not worry about that ever.

SHSU doesn't have room for him in their QB stable right now. Also (note to Roach), if JW were to drop down to Div. 1 FCS (formerly Div. 1-AA) he would not have to hold out for a year.

Willis will be a great player for the Mustangs in the years to come. He's not going anywhere but 'up' at SMU.
