Atleast the frogs know that if we had even a chimp with a headset on we would have won the game. No one is gloating over there. They know that wins are going to be hard to come by this season.

Self-delusion.

No, we're not gloating because our team performed so far under the standards we've become accustomed to over the last 9 years. That's a far cry from saying we think you could have won the game.

TCU came into the game injury-riddled and very flat. SMU came in like it was their Super Bowl. And still we managed to defeat you, if not decisively, at least fairly handily.

But whatever helps you sleep at night.

Good luck getting into the BCS, cowboy.

Wow. That's a lot of rationalization there, pal. Think what you want about the game because ultimately it doesn't really matter. We lost the Skillet (not so fair and square... I hate C-USA refs) and no amount of bickering is going to change that.

At least you guys get a new field out of the duel.

All of the arguments about personnel aside and this and that, I think we can all agree that for those who watched this in person, that this was really bad football.

Penalties, turnovers. Our coaches have no idea. TCU's offense is a joke. And the only DL on that squad who isn't a mental midget is Ortiz. Blake has completely ruined his season. That's too bad.

Except for two errors, SMU had longer time of possession and gained more yardage. The only drives where the Frogs looked at all respectable were the ones where they brought out an entirely new QB who ran an entirely different offense. After halftime adjustments were made and that stuff stopped. Had SMU not given up those two TO touchdowns, I count at least 12 points of field goals not attempted to try and score touchdowns. Except for two huge mistakes, SMU played by far their best game of the season.

Hate to bust your bubble, but your performance last weekend is closer to what will be your future (though I would grant, not the last eight plus years against us).

The problem is your move to MWC. The only possible upside for you was winning every confernece game on a yearly basis. With BYU, UT and Air Force showing up for every game and CSU, NM, WY, etc. having a good season with regularity, TCU will not be able to count on only having one or two loses per year.

Further BB and the Non-revenue sports, alumni, fans and parents pay a bigger penalty to be in MWC with its difficult travel schedules to MT and PT and the need for late night game watched in CT.

Conclusion, the hubris in sticking it to CUSA (and to a lesser degree, SMU) will haunt you. Your future is not bright based on your rush to change conferences.

Plus, you won't be able to count us as a "W" as you have enjoyed recently. The roman candle will burn out and that will hurt.

We didn't stick it to anyone. Louisville and Cincy et al left, we found a better spot for us. Hell, we voted for SMU to join CUSA and from what I hear, we were your biggest supporters. You got what you wanted, out of the WAC, so quit your crybabying about any imagined slight. We are in a better situation now. And you guys beat North Texas State and have a good shot against Rice too. So buck up little campers.

I thought that was the excuse for losing to Air Force.

TCU in MWC doesn't hurt SMU

Postby Doak's Ghost » Mon Sep 24, 2007 5:15 pm

The TCU move to the MWC did not hurt SMU; hence, if it puffs up the Froggies' skirts to travel in three times zones, so much the better. They won this year, and SMU was respectable in our loss. As long as the schools play each other yearly, all is right with our schedule. It is time to focus on UTEP - a winnable CUSA game.

that is BS. TCU was far from flat. I had to watch on tv due to my son having bball game, but watching the broadcast the Frog players were plenty jacked up coming out. in fact, the dude at the front of the pack looked like a roided out freak ready to foam at the mouth. Plus saying they were flat is especially hollow when we had the Skillet and they had to wait for two years to have a chance to get it back.

As for the injury part, feel real sorry for them, but i think our defense has had more than its share of injuries and season enders. dumb toads.
We are in a better situation now.
....................REALLY ??? I'm sure all your other fans agree that by winning your new impressive conference last year, you guys got to go to the prestigious Las Vegas Bowl and play a big time program like Northern Illinois. Certainly, you guys would not be interested in playing at the Liberty Bowl against an SEC team like our Champion Houston did last year.

Deep Purple has a long, well-earned reputation for being factually challenged. Don't take his ravings seriously.
