Hopefully the recruiters. -CoS
Its another example of the conspiracy Rivals has against SMU and other non-BCS schools. What is this about the 7th or 8th upgrade in the last 3 recruiting seasons. Pretty charitable upgrade too because although he has about 5 offers (SMU, TCU, Rice, UTEP and North Texas) they weren't from the BCS schools-so there is another conspiracy theory out the window.
I am amazed that 16 and 17 year olds that have yet to even play their senior year are properly rated at all. I guess Div I players have already distinguished themselves as sophomores and juniors.
As is the conspiracy theory that says Coach Bennett and his staff can't identify and recruit talented players.
I thought conspiracy theories could not include beliefs that are widely held by the masses? ![]()
New Rivals article indicates that he is still committed to SMU, BUT "I'm coming as a visitor to TCU this weekend," he said. "I plan on catching an SMU game later on. The outcome of the game will possibly affect my decision on where I go. I don't know exactly when I would make a firm decision or switch, but it wouldn't be real long."
He sounds like he will flip his commitment, but we can always hope. He has 8 catches this year for 300 yards and 4 TDs.
I can not say for sure, of course, but if I am he, I see more potential for showcasing my position at SMU than at TCU. If I were a DE or LB I might say otherwise, but I would rather have the opportunity to have Willis throwing to me than a TCU QB. Now if he is just looking at wins ands losses, that is another story.
If he's 6-5 and as fast and strong as advertised, doesn't he start from Day One when he gets here?
Add Bradley Haynes and this guy to the mix, and the WR crew suddenly has a very different look. Plagiarize!
Let no one else's work evade your eyes. Remember why the good lord made your eyes. So don't shade your eyes, just Plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize! (Only be sure always to call it, please .... "research.")
It's going to be a battle for this guy. From Rivals:
"I was pleased with both squads actually," he said. "SMU made some mistakes, the one on the blocked punt and the interception. I think the game could've been different if those mistakes wouldn't have happened." Fuller has mentioned all along that it's a tight race between TCU and SMU for his services, so did the trip sway his decision at all. "I won't make a final decision on where I'm going until after my two official visits," he said. "I want to take one to SMU and the other to TCU. I don't want to drive 5 and a half hours again, that has a heck of a drive. That will be my only two official visits unless someone like A&M or Texas come more into the picture." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- That last comment bothers me - sounds like Coach Franocchio ("I LOVE this place! Unless someone has a better deal to offer.")
They guy looks gone regardless. He is the definition of "soft verbal". He has made a commitment to us and it appears that we are at best tied with TCU. Why commit early if you are going to be so extremely open to other opportunities?
Depends on who the next coach is. Just like you can't say firing a coach is a good move until you know the replacement's name. Who knows, maybe this guy committed because he liked the assistant coach who recruited him. As for committing early and still listening, recruiting is full of stories about guys who want to go to a particular school, wait to see what other offers roll in, and then find out the school they were likely to sign with gave their scholarship to someone else. Listening to other schools doesn't mean he's gone, either. Makes the commitment sound tenuous, at best, but it doesn't mean it's dissolving altogether.
Fuller has apparently been recently offered by Vanderbilt-and he is strongly considering the Commodores. He said he really likes TCU too and has visited both schools. Fuller had narrowed his decision to SMU/TCU although technically an SMU commit. It is now an SMU/TCU/Vandy battle.
