SMU Training TableApparently they decided to implement a training table... started this week:
1st day not enough food to feed everyone. 2nd day sloppy joe's and chicken that was so dry players were pouring their lemonade on it. Mandatory! $9 per meal, have to swipe your card which takes money from your stipend check! SMU always first class... WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
I don't even think the slop they serve at Umphrey Lee is $9 for all you can eat. At least you can make your own pasta there or get an omlete. Probably the same kitchen staff serving up those meals
Girls LOVE hearing about things like my car and my season tickets. I usually try to work in what street my parents live on, just so they know where I'm coming from. That's a deal closer. Always be closing!
Yeah it would have been nice to have Bailey's, I don't even know what the hell they're feeding them but it hasn't exactly been entirely huge with the team when they could probably get better food at Mac's, Umph or at home.
I stopped by the ATM outside the Loyd Center around 6 p.m. last night and ran into to Thomas Morstead as he was leaving. He said the players were thrilled with the new training table. It was something SMU hasn't done in the past, but the new regime thought it was needed. They may still be working out the kinks, but I applaud them for trying it. Thomas said they had it during two-a-days this year for the first time and that while in past seasons some lineman would lose as much as 15 pounds during that period, they all kept their weight on this year. I think it is a big step in the right direction.
I agree completely.
Besides, school food is supposed to be disgusting, isn't it? Always was when I was in school. Now they just get more of it. "What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

I am not going to lie. I loved the food at Mac's place and Umphrey Lee when I was a student. Even as a senior I would borrow ID cards from pledges on occassion to go get a school meal. Burgers and chicken sandwiches grilled in front of you, made to order pasta, any sandwich you might like, made to order omlettes in the AM, all kinds of stuff. Plus the ice cold milk, chocolate milk, ice cream, tons of drink choices. Wow, after reading this post I sound like a real fatty. ![]()
I think it's a flat surface on which to build your model railroad. -CoS
well he's a punter... my sources tell me different WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
I have eaten at Umphrey Lee on 2 occasions. I thought the food was outstanding for a university cafeteria (much improved since I was at SMU). Consider the venue, they're not trying to be Kirby's.
How long does it usually take to learn to be a regular table? The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
i don't think he was complaining about Ump, but the price the players HAVE to pay out of their stipend.... mmmmmmm Sloppy joe's ![]() WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
It was about $8 for dinner when I was there 5 years ago. I'll bet it's at least $9 now. The students don't realize how much they're being charged when they use their meal plan.
